Chapter 17 ADRIA’S POV My heart began to beat fast without rest, and I began to drag my body back little by little. But the Great Vampire’s steps seemed faster than the pace at which I moved. But to my surprise, the Great Vampire only picked up the book that had fallen, which was beside me. Even as she picked up the book, I still felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest. The three Vampires rushed in, looking like they feared that she had seen me. But to me, it seemed like she didn’t see me. She couldn’t purposely ignore me as she looked like a really thirsty vampire.

I change my stance, ready to strike when out of nowhere vampires jump from the windows above, something dark flies in front of me, “Blaze!” I watch the Vampire grin with satisfaction, holding Blaze’s heart in his hands before crushing it. Rage so hot bursts through my veins, I don’t know how I got in front of the vampire so quickly, but one minute he’s six feet in front of me and the next I have his own heart in my hands, his eyes widen as he stares at his own heart before his body slowly turns to ash. Sally is sitting next to Blaze, holding his head, “He’s dead.” She says, staring up at me, “I’m sorry.”

My forehead suddenly creased because it became familiar. And she's surprised when the lock suddenly opens in front of her. She saw an old book inside the vault. A dusty and black old book. Her curiosity becomes even stronger. She took the book and sit on the dusty chair. She opens the pages of the book and started to read its content. "Damien died because of her beloved woman who cheated him on their wedding day. He's a pure-blood vampire, and besides, they could not pull out his heart," Ash confidently answered as she pointed at the most extensive stitch in Daniel's chest. "His heart?" I asked, and she nodded. "Pureblood vampires will only die once their heart has been pulled out of their bodies," Ash explained, making me feel relieved, knowing that Daniel would wake up soon.

With a fierce battle cry, he launched a surprise attack from behind, his claws swiping through the air with deadly precision. But the vampire was too powerful, too alert. He swiftly turned around, his movements a blur of speed, and caught the alpha off guard. With a merciless swipe of his hand, he ripped out the alpha's heart, the sound of tearing flesh echoing through the air.
