If a living organism is overgrown, it can go astray and become a dangerous kind of species. So after we took a little we put that potion in a safe place so that no animal or even a human could drink that. We looked closely at the rat and were shocked to see it move fast inside a small cage. Because of what we found out, smile printed in our face. The experiment that we did was totally made perfectly.

Their eyes glowed red. “I’ve got this, Mom,” Ralin said confidently. He quickly created his own air shield, adding a bit of pale green color so Leesa would know what he was doing. The rodents did not make as much noise slamming into the barrier as the crows did, but their fur sizzled more loudly than the birds’ feathers as they died. The swarm of rats kept coming, climbing up upon the bodies of their fellows to try to get at their three targets. The stench of their charred corpses was even stronger and more foul than that of the crows.

The metallic tang in the air intensified, sickly sweet and nauseating. He lifted the flaps. This time, I didn't close my eyes. I couldn't. The sight that greeted me was even more gruesome than the day before. The box was again filled with dead rats. But this time, they weren’t just dead. They were mangled. Some had been stabbed repeatedly, small, dark wounds marring their fur, still oozing fresh blood. Their tiny limbs were contorted at unnatural angles. And the worst part, the part that made my stomach lurch violently, was that some of them were still twitching. Their bodies spasmed feebly, their eyes glazed over, indicating they had been killed only moments ago.

“Drone feed live. Thermal shows 18 bodies inside. Most clustered in the central lab on the second floor. Two in security room. Three moving—patrol pattern. No one near the loading dock right now.” Elena: “Building schematics pulled from municipal records. Two sub-levels. BSL-2 lab on sub-1, BSL-3 on sub-2. That’s where the synthesis work happens. Vault access requires dual biometrics—retinal + palm print. No external override.” Zara: “We can’t go loud. Too many civilians. Too much attention.” Leo: “We don’t need the whole lab. We need the research data and any physical samples. Wipe the servers, burn the backups, destroy the prototypes. In and out in 12 minutes.”

I could see that there were several dogs caged and forced to run on a wheel, their muscles were atrociously overworked. I also saw a number of pigeons, their wings clipped, as they were being tested for their cognitive abilities. They were being forced to peck at a touchscreen, and a shock was delivered each time they made a mistake.

Everything needed to be noted as it would be made into a book later regarding the research and put in the library for future reference. However, when James looked into the log dated recently, he did not see anything being injected into a lab rat. There was, however, the injection log of his daughter and it was dated two days ago. But the logs of the days before that, even dated a week back had not shown there were any experiment on the lab rats using the last serum.
