A vertical crack appeared in the rock, and a liquid-violet substance began to seep through, looking like glowing lava. ​"They're here!" Maya screamed. ​The violet liquid didn't just pool on the floor; it began to take shape. It formed three tall, spindly figures with skin like polished obsidian and eyes that were nothing but voids of shifting stars. They didn't breathe, and they didn't make a sound.
