I gripped a handful of my dress and began to hurry in that direction before he could stop me. “I’m sorry” I apologized as I almost tripped and bumped into some kid before making my way through and it’s exactly as Logan had said but it’s not the flying whales or talking monkey that caught my attention. It was something else. A glass box stood by the side with a mermaid in it. Her tales all covered in blue scales and shimmering under the water. I made my way closer and stood beside it before placing my hands against the box with wide eyes. I just couldn’t believe I was seeing one for real. I have read about it but seeing one just makes it all the more real and exciting.

I walk out of the water and use some of my powers to dry my shoes and jeans before I grab my bags and head towards the city I saw last night. When I get there I see a sign saying "Welcome to Newport!" so I guess that's the name of the city. As I walk around town many people stare at me and I notice that most people here are werewolves. I know because every mermaid or merman can tell what a person is by looking at them. However they don't know what I am. They can only smell saltwater from me which makes them raise an eyebrow. Knowing this I just ignore their stares and walk until I find a building where it says "Real Estate" on.

We get our shit together and head off to the last island we need to visit. “Well, that went good,” I say. “Yes, it did. I had no idea that you could make a facility to hold a mermaid.” Thomas tells me. “That had to be specially made,” I comment. It’s true that I had to make a special holding facility for the mermaids I have. It was worth construction, though. Those creatures are one of my highest sellers. I have many that want a mermaid. It took me many years to be successful in catching them. Demons are not made to be in the water, so I had to find someone willing to go down to the deepest parts of the ocean and devise a trap to catch them. We step outside again, and I swear it is

"There is a legend that mermaids live at the bottom of this lake."

He was convinced he would die that night. His feet got tangled in his net. The strong waves made it impossible for Carl to free himself, and he drifted, battered by the waves, losing control. In his resignation, Carl saw something glowing swimming toward him. It weaved gracefully under the water, with a blueish glow, looking beautiful. When it got closer, the creature's hand reached for Carl, but it wasn't like a human hand. Between its fingers were delicate webs, and its nails were long, like claws that seemed capable of tearing through anything. It cut the net, rope entangled around his leg.

Lena's POV. I hummed a sweet, melodious tune as I walked down from the market with a bag of groceries in my hand. I couldn't get his voice out of my mind. I was excited. Too excited. He promised to marry me, he promised to make me his Luna. And even as I silently flung open the door, I could hear his voice in my head. Literally. “Yes! oh god! Yes! Come on, fuck the shit out of me” a loud moan snapped me out of my head. I froze looking straight ahead at the couch.

She laughed, "Okay. I will leave them alone." Damien and I got in the Hummer with Ely and Eivin and we left for the airport. Once we were in the air, I asked Damien why they want us there. I didn't think we could offer much help. He replied, "They know you are good at uniting species. They want to ally with the mermaids." I smiled, "Sweet! We could do the same!" He agreed, "The Queen of the Mermaids lives in one of the lakes in Nebraska." I furrowed my brows, "Really? I would've thought she lived in the ocean or the sea?" He shook his head, "Nope. This lake is her childhood home, so this is where she feels most comfortable." I smiled, "That is so cool."

But about her power and strength was remained secret throughout the kingdom for the sake of her safety and welfare except for Wamus, Alenna and Lilo, who were close friends of her late mother. Samantha grew up without her parents so she grew resilient from all the challenges in her life and brave but known as the most rebellious mermaid in their kingdom. She is always the reason why some mermaids were punished for leading them to the place they are forbidden to go because of the danger. But every punishment she receives she just goes through it jokingly as if nothing has happened. Samantha were a cheerful mermaid and because of her stubbornness, Alenna once imprisoned her for using her power

“Only then will it be clear if your heart can guide you to freedom—and what price you must pay for it.” The word price lodged in Rhea’s mind, but instead of dread, she burst out laughing. Amber had told her about the three days; she was sure she could endure them. “What amuses you?” Mermaid asked. “Nothing,” Rhea smirked. “Let’s start counting.” “In the meantime,” Mermaid said softly, “you may call me Mermaid.” “Well, I am—” “Rhea,” Mermaid finished. At Rhea’s gape, she smiled knowingly. Then, without another word, she dove into the pool, her tail flashing gold as she swam in regal circles beneath the water.
