Dragon fire
" Duck, fool!"
A truck in the form of his best friend hit Gio from behind, sprawling the big man to the ground. The reason became obvious as soon as the figures strolled past their hiding place-dragon folk.
A familiar resentment grew hot in his chest, and the ever-present anger at the unfairness of life rose unbidden. Why must the wolves live underground, when the dragons are free to soar close to the Moon Goddess herself? There was enough land for everyone...
"You should probably have waited until it was proper dark before coming up for an adventure," A female voice whispered beside him then, and Gio nearly lost control of his wolf, spinning around with a feral growl.
