Lyra is sitting next to me on the counter and is playing with some sugar cubes. She looks like her mum: curly red hair, lots of freckles, and green eyes. The door creaked softly. No,not the front door. Behind me. The air shifted. I turned sharply, and my breath caught. She was here. The First Legendary Luna. Her long white hair flowed like moonlight, her presence warm and steady, radiating something ancient. Her silver eyes held galaxies, and when she smiled at me, I felt like a child again,both safe and terrified of the path ahead.

Take care of that before Ms stuck up sees it,” Lala said on her way to the drawer she kept the lollipops. “Let her see. I'm done with this shit.” She stormed out of the kitchen, brushing past Mia as she did. “What the hell is wrong with that girl?” Lala rhetorically asked as she returned with two different flavoured lollipops for Mia.

I can’t walk away. The candlelight flickers, shadows dancing across the walls, and Tona begins.
