POV: Hazel BLUE I hated blue. But I was standing in front of the mirror in lingerie the colour of a cold morning, and I hated every second of it. The cut was nice. The fabric sat right against my skin, cool and smooth, the delicate lace edges tracing the curve of my hips and the swell of my breasts exactly as the saleswoman had promised. The colour made my pale skin look even paler, almost fragile, like something that could bruise if touched too hard. I looked exactly like what I was trying to be—soft, inviting, the kind of wife who might finally make her husband pause and really see her.

The descent onto Aethelgard was a clinical marvel that defied the physics of the Milky Way. As the First Mother’s Breath broke through the nitrogen-rich atmosphere, the viewports were flooded with a spectrum of blues for which I had no name in my medical logs. This was a planet of liquid quartz oceans, vast, shimmering expanses that reflected the light of a triple-star system into a permanent azure haze. Floating islands of "Blue Fire" drifted above the waves, their undersides encrusted with glowing cerulean crystals that hummed at a frequency that drove my Tempered Heart to a steady, rhythmic sixty beats per minute.

Waist-high and glowing faintly, she looked like something out of a myth. The forest’s darkness bent around her, like even it didn’t want to mess with her. “Beautifully dangerous,” I murmured, smiling despite the exhaustion gnawing at my bones. “Just like me, huh?” Blue made that weird chirp-growl sound, almost smug. Suddenly, a dense mist rolled out across the clearing ahead. My hand went straight to my dagger. “Oh, come on. Not another one.” But before I could take a step forward, Blue’s body flared with a soft blue aura, her power rippling outward in a pulse that cut through the fog, the mist hissed, twisting and then dissolving completely, leaving behind a stretch of empty ground.

Though it was also floating in several parts and not coloring everything, it was way more present than any of the other colors. There were different nuances of the blue, too. Some icy, slight turquoise, and dark like the sea swam in the distance, while an indigo one moved vigorously near her. The last one interested her the most because it and another in paler blue had never left her vision. The pale blue was so still that she had only noticed it because the indigo one circled it regularly. Although she didn't know what they were, she had decided to call all of them 'gauze birds' for now, since they could fly and resembled transparent fabric. There were exceptions to this description though.

"Sofia, you are marrying the most powerful being alive in a castle-mansion in front of an entire pack that is divided about whether you should exist. Everything about this is dramatic." I looked at her. "The blue," she said firmly. Lilly, from the window seat, held up her notebook: The blue. Kara is right. "You're supposed to be objective," I told her. She wrote: I am being objective. The blue is objectively the best. I looked at the fabric. Deep midnight blue, the colour of the sky at the moment just before full dark, with a quality to it that caught the light differently depending on how you moved. It was, objectively, the best.

Lia said. "Like what?" I asked with my eyes closed. "Imagine me riding on a purple unicorn galloping along a large rainbow in the sky" she said and I laughed. "What would I do without you?" I muttered. She laughed. ***** DAHLIA We arrived in our new home hours later. Apparently, it was one of the houses Lee's dad left him in his will. After settling down in my room, I stepped into the kitchen to have a glass of water. Red was sitting on a stool in the kitchen reading some sort of file. Beside him was a bottle of vodka that was half empty and two empty vodka bottles.

And the crystal clear water of the river was a fresh sight. The scene looked like something picked out of fantasy novels with angels and all. Focusing my attention back on Savita, I look at her and tell her “I was hoping to go for something more royally elegant yet bold” She nods understandingly. “Then, how about royal blue?” She looks at me. I shake my head “No it would look too bright and something our grandmas would like to visit instead of highest bidders” I already had enough with the color blue, given to my last experience in LA at Mr. Pedo-Banker’s house.

Lisa watched, utterly fascinated, a connoisseur appreciating fine wine. The blue light swirling. Lyra’s struggles weakened, her vibrant green eyes dimming, fading to a dull, lifeless grey. Her body slumped, utterly still, as the last wisp of sapphire essence vanished. The whine died. Silence, thick and suffocating. Lisa carefully picked up the dark blue crystal, palm-sized crystal, radiating a deep, mesmerizing blue light—the concentrated essence of Lyra’s life, her spirit, her laughter. Lisa held it up to the light, turning it this way and that, her face alight with covetous delight.

It was the most beautiful shade of blue she had ever seen, purer than the sky after rain, purer than blue hydrangeas. "If I had known your eye color was close to sky blue when designing the courtyard for your villa, I should have replaced the deep blue catmint with sky blue hydrangeas or sky blue lobelias. There should have been more sky-blue pebbles on the cobblestone path leading to your stargazing spot," Alicia murmured her thoughts unintentionally.
