We reach a door where Raven knocks twice and enters; however, the scene that greets me causes me to simultaneously pick my eyes up from the floor and vomit a little in my mouth.

"Well trust me they're way more places to kill yourself here than in New York", i said matter factly trying to lighten his mood. Osric answers while sitting on the edge of the lounge near Raven’s head making her smile. “How are you doing? It’s a big tattoo, you hurting yet?” I question, looking down at her hip to see the raven in red ink at the top of her hip taking up almost her entire thigh. The tattoo is very cool, the Raven is in a defensive attack position and made of knots like you would see in old Norse temples. “Enjoying talking to these guys, and getting to know Ares a bit better, it stings when it’s right over the bone but not bad,” Raven admits while looking down at the tattoo gun pressing against her skin, as Ares works on the dark red outline.

I hope to help Raven understand she is more, I know she is far more capable than she believes, and has more to offer than death. “I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to stop death, I get I’m the Goddess of Death, but if I could stop death, you and Jonathan wouldn’t have died, and I wouldn’t have lost our baby,” Raven whispers the last bit as a tear rolls down her cheek, I wrap my arms around her and our pups, hating seeing the pain she is in. “I don’t even want to know if I want to stop death, considering it would mean I failed you, I failed our baby,” she sobs, then protectively curls up around Gunnar and Roan, doing her best to keep them latched on.

“You giving orders now?” “Someone has to,” he shot back. The air between us thickened instantly, sharp as a blade. Raven sighed, dragging a hand down her face. “Just go. Both of you. If the realm’s really closing, freezing to death is not how I want to go out.” Killian grabbed the small axe from the corner and stepped outside. I followed him, muttering under my breath. The rain had stopped, leaving behind an eerie silence that didn’t feel right. ***
