She kept glancing at her watch and the road expectantly. "What's keeping him", she mumbled, quite frustrated from waiting. Laura gazed around for a while and finally spotted an empty bench under a tree adjacent the school premises. She hived a sigh and crossed over to the bench. After settling in, she rummaged through her bag and brought out a novel, "MY REFLECTION" by Otu Harriet. She was a fun of novels and Harriet was one of her favourite authors. She started reading with rapt attention. Ben smiled, wearing a mischievous look. Patrick and Fred glanced at him, wondering what he was thinking of.

Grey rushed to the room as he heard the shouts of Lila and the cry of Laura begging for pardon. “You're leaving this house, Laura. To think that you'll stoop so low to steal after all this family has done for you, I can't allow you to stay here anymore.” Grey stated.“You heard him, Laura. Just leave, please.” Lila said, pushing Laura, who was on her knees, begging for pardon. “I…I have a confession, ma’am. You need to know that they're not your family. Reaching up, I grasped it like a lifeline. “I made coffee,” she said. “We bake cookies!” Gracie exclaimed, tugging on Laura’s hand. “Come, Nana L, come hab cookies!” Laura hesitated, and I smiled grimly. “I’d like a moment with Graham alone if that’s okay. "In my room!" Laura climbed the sweeping staircase, still buzzing with restless energy from the lunch meeting. She found Laurette sprawled across her king-sized bed, scrolling through her phone, looking like a mirror image of herself in designer lounge wear that probably cost more than most people's rent. "Guess who I saw today," Laura said, dropping onto the bed beside her sister. Laurette didn't look up from her phone. "Grayson Cross, obviously. Did it go well? Did you close the deal?"
