Moore’s voice rang warmly across the drive. Lauren stepped out, greeted with the soft embrace of her mother-in-law — graceful as ever in a pale blue dress, her eyes shining with affection. “You look radiant,” Mrs. Moore said, brushing a hand over Lauren’s hair. “The city suits you.” “It’s good to see you again, Ma,” Lauren whispered with a soft smile, her arms wrapping briefly around the older woman’s waist.
