From the center of the mist, a figure stepped forward. She was wearing a gown of grey silk that seemed to be made of falling ash. Her hair was no longer gold; it was a pale, dead silver, and her eyes were empty sockets filled with swirling grey dust. She held the Shadow-Shard of the Mother-Lode, but it was no longer black. It was the color of a cataract.

I slurped loudly at my chocolate, sighing in contentment when the sweet flavor burst onto my tongue. She must have been desperate because she folded quickly, faster than a deck of cards. "H-he's gonna kill me." "I'm quite sure that Shadow has more important things to do than…chase after you." My eyes rake over her outfit, taking her in from head to toe. She was dressed in a plain slightly baggy cotton shirt that everyone found stylish nowadays but I just viewed as childish.

“What colour was her hair today?” “Rings out,” Shadow shook his head. His face was pale. “I can’t remember man,” he added. “Blonde, I think. Though my mind has totally shut down, and maybe that was yesterday? Blonde, and she was wearing like, I don’t know, sedate clothing for Vixen. Black tight skirt, black shirt with white dots and this frill,” he gestured to his neck. “Black cardigan over top.”

Lydia stood in front of her full-length mirror, staring at her reflection. She knew the figure gazing back at her was herself, but she felt conflicted about believing it. The long, sleeveless silver dress she wore sparkled with diamonds, and her tiny arms gleamed as if she had polished them all day to impress. The dress gracefully covered her neck, with the fabric draping down her bare back, adding to her elegance.

It sounded more like a sob, but a reluctant ghost of a smile pulled on her lips all the same and Sephora allowed herself to give a relieved grin as well. The Shadow gazed up at her Lord, love and gratitude warming her blue eyes. "I'd still be able to sneak up on him even if I wore a luminous yellow trench coat and glowing lights in my hair." She argued and smiled a little more. A gruff of laughter sounded from Daemon, his bronze eyes shining with relief and amusement. Sephora smirked at the laughter she also caught in Lady Valda's eyes, despite the limp wing that now draped low on the broken ground.

With that thought, I left both of them and headed towards the villa. I rummaged through the contents of the two paper bags that Lideon gave me. One was a black and silver cocktail dress, while the other one was black shoes. I didn't want to go to the bathroom to take a shower. I was wearing a white robe when I did my make-up after showering. I did something simple on the face, just to put color on it. I rolled my hair up into a messy bun and tied it with silver pins.

There was a reason the dragon paired them together and already gave them the powers of the Feuer Schatten and they were stronger together than as individuals. Gaining confidence as she donned her new yellow dress and her black heels, she finished drying her hair. Once it was scooped up and pinned down, into a very professional looking bun she added a touch of makeup and lipstick as her finishing touches. Smiling at her new look, she walked downstairs and found everyone discussing her in the library.

“Today is just making it official.” A sharp knock interrupted whatever I was about to say. “Sophie!” Jessica's voice came through the door. “We need to get you ready!” Christian groaned. “They're early.” “They're excited.” I kissed him quickly and climbed out of bed, wrapping a sheet around myself. “Let them in before they break down the door.” Maria and Jessica burst in carrying what looked like a wedding dress made by wolves. “Holy shit,” I breathed. “Traditional Luna robes.” Maria held up the white silk, which was covered in intricate silver embroidery. “Every Shadow Ridge Luna has worn these and added her own embroidery.”
