Lilith said as she eyed my outfit. I had told her earlier to call me by my name, and she only agree to do so when we were alone. “What statement?” I asked, staring at myself in the full-length mirror. I was dressed in all black: leather leggings, a matching leather jacket, ankle boots, a face cap pulled low over my hair, and dark goggles. “You’re saying, mess with me and you won’t go scot-free.” She was right. I did look powerful. The red lip gloss on my lips felt like a promise of revenge and danger. “You look so beautiful.”

Lydia shook her head and offered me a sympathetic smile, seeming like she might be acquainted with the horrors of Hell. She walked across the room and around the back of the sofas, toward a small table beneath the Hatch. After a few clicks of the screen behind its door, she showed me her favorite outfitters, who supplied garments for the athletic but elegant she-wolf. I chose a pair of brown leather pants, a white tank top with hidden support, and a denim jacket that came with holsters and a hidden bandolier. “I’ll take you down to the armory and get you stocked with anti-demon bullets.”

On Wednesday night, Lydia changed her outfit four different times before deciding on a black denim mini and silver camisole. The shadow, drawn to Liora's orb, began to take a more defined shape as it neared — a cloaked figure, its face hidden, emanating an aura of chaos and disruption.

His hair is dark and low. "Dear Shadow walkers," he says loudly. I stand frozen in the spot taking deep breaths as the place gets crowded with the dwellers coming of out their houses. A few persons gasp in shock while other whisper to one another. "Let's welcome her as one of hers," he adds staring at me. His blue eyes are piercing. "Come," he whispers, stretching his hand to take mine. I look around as I let him take my hand. His grip is gentle as he holds my wrist. "To greatness," he yells, raising my arm high. “I see, you still had an obsidian shadow.” Sure enough, Kleint did have an obsidian-black shadow. It was covering his body, flexing in his outline. The way it stretched was just beyond normal, considering that it even covered up his neck, forming a specialized polo coat with buttons in the middle, and a cape so extreme that it had spikes in it. “You’re being humble, Luis. We all know that all legends possess such a shadow.” Coughing a little, Marjorie—with the help of Granny—tried to sit, exhaling rather heavily. “W-What’s the thing—what’s the thing about these shadows—obsidian whatnot?”

Hero steps out of the limo and holds the door open for her. Lyra hardly realizes that her new hairstyle was showing off more of her smooth tanned skin than her boss/student wanted to see at the moment.
