The Nether Alchemist: Tales of a Necessary Evil

The Nether Alchemist: Tales of a Necessary Evil

Norval and Luciana drew closer together to gather information. “All right, first up is Eadmer Todd. He's known as the "Prodigy from The North." He graduated as a first-class android mechanic from The Seolaran Academy of Arts, where he studies weapon technology. And, get this, he's just fourteen,” Jalon added, feigning surprise. “I'm guessing you'll be pitted against him Luciana,” he said. She questioned, "Why me?" He answered, "Well, let's just call it a gut feeling."

The Protégé

The Protégé

No one noticed! Clayde looked at Dean Jimmy with hope, hoping that he would say something in affirmation. Director Jimmy said slowly, "You are a junior I appreciate." Just as a smile appeared on Clayde’s face, he immediately stopped! He was stumped by Headmaster Jimmy’s next words. Director Jimmy said, "He is the person I admire. There is no conflict at all!" Yang Xiao looked at Clayde with a smile on his face. “Have you realized that your youngest genius in history is not only in name, but also in defeat? You are unlucky. Whenever you meet me, I generally won’t interfere!”

I get the holidays are here and it can make things a little hectic. But all the more reason to try and get those chapters out ahead of time as we all would like to continue reading. However at this rate it seems you may lose followers of the book and the money you get by them supporting your novel.

Prodigy by Theft

Prodigy by Theft

Everyone called my sister Alessia a prodigy. I was the only one who knew she was a thief. From the day I moved back into the brownstone, she started taking from me. Quietly. Carefully. My designs. My sketches. My drafts. Everything I created would appear under her name before I even had time to finish it. The family stood behind her. Always. My father, Salvatore Lucchese, head of the family, his word law itself, said he believed Alessia.

The Prophecy's Pawn

The Prophecy's Pawn

" The link. The pendant is more than simply a trinket; it represents a bit of my power, and it is calling to me." The pendant pulsed again, and for a brief time, I felt a peculiar tug, as if a line connected me to Zephyr. "Then why can I use it?" I refused to back down. "If it's yours, why does it respond to me?" His smile faded, and I saw a glimpse of—doubt? Frustration? It vanished in an instant, replaced by his normal assurance. "Because you're a thief," he said coldly. "You have taken something that is not yours, and the pendant—my pendant—does not comprehend loyalty. It is merely clinging to the most powerful source of energy it can discover. For the time being, that is you.

How I Became Legend?

How I Became Legend?

“Report: Unique Skill, Illusion Manipulation, acquired!” D*mn, what was that? Now, it starting to scare the hell out of me. Maybe this is what happens to people who are about to die. I heaved a deep sigh mentally. Am I just going to accept my fate? How I wish I had the courage to tell Iris all the love I feel for her. “Report: Special skill, Leo, the Zodiac of pride and bravery, acquired!” I’m really going to die. There's no helping it. There was no hope anymore for me to survive in this lake of fire. It’s like I’m in hell right now.

The prophecy

The prophecy

Replied Zach, “I didn’t mean it that way buddy! I would never.” I knew he was saying the truth. But this feeling was strong, and it was hard to control it. It was the wolf part of me trying to protect its mate. Zach was a wolf too, so he understood. “Yeah, no hard feelings.” I said and then, changing the subject. “So, how’s it going with the investigation about the prophecy?” There was this old prophecy told by my people, that a darkness would awaken and bring despair to our family. It was believed that this prophecy would soon come true. Zach oversaw the investigation, trying to find what would awaken and try to prevent it.

THE PROTÉGÉ

THE PROTÉGÉ

"You were groomed to be more than a wolf's mate. You are meant for more than this." "Don't underestimate me, your grace!!" He hissed, feeling my own frustration growing with his distrust. "There is nothing and no one in this world that could ever change who I truly am. Years at Boris' and your side had never made me weaver. I'm Advica, duke Leonardo Anetti's protégé. I've been prepared and groomed for years to honor you. If you think that Reymond would make me weaver, you thought wrong." I pushed myself away from him.

The Wolf Prophies

The Wolf Prophies

I watch her pull her shirt to the side revealing a perfect paw print on her left shoulder. “ The few people who saw it thought it was a tattoo but I have had it all my life.” Lexi said, putting her shirt back in place and sat back down. “ With Patsy’s help we went and looked at Elder Samuel things. We found some interesting things. About you Lexi.” Standish said. “ What about me?” Lexi, if we are right. And after everything we have read. Everything adds up. Lexi, my dear, you are the Prophecy Child.” Standish said.

Frequently Asked Questions

The biggest one is probably how they're written to be super competent right away, which makes the middle of the story feel weird sometimes. There's only so many times you can read 'and then they learned a technique in one day that took masters decades' before you're just waiting for the actual conflict to show up.

It also messes with the supporting cast. If the prodigy is leagues ahead of everyone their age, the rivals and friends can start to feel like props or cheerleaders instead of real characters. You end up with this weird dynamic where the only threats are either ancient masters or sneaky villains using poison, because a fair fight isn't possible.

Honestly, the most satisfying 'legend prodigy' stories I've read are the ones that treat that gift as a curse, or at least a massive responsibility that isolates them. Otherwise, it's just a power fantasy checklist.
