When I was a pup, he was the one who’d told me about the rogues, witches, and vampires who fought and failed to take the Midnight Pack from the alphas before me. My favorite story of his, though, was the Legend of the White She-wolf. I would always beg Uncle Panton to tell me that one. Something about it fascinated me.

"I don't know." But the answer felt obvious. Too obvious. Rachel entered the room before anyone could say more. Her eyes moved between us. "You all look like you've seen a ghost." Nobody laughed. Emily pushed the book toward her. Rachel skimmed the page quickly. Something unreadable flashed across her face. Then it disappeared. "Old stories," she said. Her tone sounded casual. Too casual. Emily frowned. "These aren't stories." Rachel shrugged. "They're legends. Every pack has them." I noticed Lucas watching her carefully.

this was more than serious. “Willow,” he said, voice gravelly but firm. “You’ve been having dreams, haven’t you? Not just dreams.” I nodded. “There’s blood. Screaming. A red moon. And I’m always alone.” He exhaled slowly and sat across from me. “This isn’t the first time it’s happened,” he said. “There’s a legend we’ve guarded for centuries—one that isn’t written down in any book. It’s passed through blood and voice alone.”

Wenna said. “Fireheart is a legend,” said a woman from the back. “It’s just a story the people from Namandu tell their children so they won’t feel bad for not possessing any magic. Besides, Fireheart could wield lightning. No one who could wield lightning has been discovered in centuries.”

Lucretia's eyebrows were frowned. "The little girl is very insightful," the Green Sky Python looked at the four people in front of him with interest. "Don't be surprised, Lucretia can be said to be an encyclopedia of magical beasts, and within four years, memorized all of the Creeping Magical Beasts, Flying Magical Beasts, and King Magical Beasts" Sasuke didn't say it was okay to say it Lilith and Sasuke were even more surprised to know that just a few of these types of books accounted for one hundred thousand and thirty-three thousand copies of the book!

He would always stopped at the climax, sighed dramatically, and say that it’s too scary. She would grab his hand and say she wasn’t scared, that she would be brave. She would ask, so excited, “What happened next?”

Then I turned to Miranda, changing the conversation ‘Miranda, there is something Athan told me while we were on the balcony. He spoke about a kidnapping ring known as the black hood which likes to take purebloods. Do you know anything about them? ‘That’s scary. People do this.’ Jissa retorted. ‘It is. Really. I feel so scared for our kind. When have we become so debased to fight and kill one of our kind? My elder used to tell me stories about our debacles with the vampires and sometimes witches. I have never heard about in-fighting amongst werewolves. It is sad.’

Ever since she'd seen the news about the release of Wolf in her New Reviews magazine, she'd had a feeling in her gut this was where she needed to look. Jamie had credited a lot of her information to a book titled Legends of the Werewolf. Lia had read and reread the notes her great-grandmother had handed to her in those last sad moments. Notes that told about generations past that came here from Romania and grew the pack. This had to be the book. Legends of the Werewolf. Surely there couldn't be two books with the exact same title.
