Her movements were fast and precise. Leslie was not like most healers. Many people in the pack still remembered the day she arrived years ago to compete for the healer’s position in Obsidian Veil. There were older healers who had served the pack for decades and they did not like the idea of a young outsider taking their place. But Leslie proved them wrong. She had studied medicine outside the Obsidian Veil for several years before returning. She knew modern human medicine and she also possessed the healing abilities of a gifted wolf.

” I asked, making sure to remain bigger and more in control than the she-Bear, even though a part of me still wanted to avert my eyes when I looked at her. Things were getting more and more interesting. Or fucked. The Bear wagged her tail, and her ass went up in the air before she darted farther into the trees. I quickly shifted and caught her scent. She smelled like the forest after a storm, crisp and alluring. With a forced shake, I pushed away the building attraction and continued our chase. She was agile and strong, which allowed for her to jump over fallen trees and a creek that I would have expected a new wolf to be afraid

Aidinth laughed, “You know her very well, Luna Abby.” Everyone laughed and I replied, “I’m very passionate about this cause. I want it to work out for you guys. I can’t stand the thought of you losing more werebears, but I love polar bears, and I don’t want them killed off either. Aren’t they endangered?” Denali replied, “Yes. We can’t hunt them or the Blue Bears.” I shook my head, “Wait. What? Blue Bears?” Denali chuckled, “Blue Bears are Glacial Bears. They’re beautiful and they are extremely rare. These are reserved only for our little rag-tag group. When Carson was little his favorite cartoon has something to do with bears, so he just gave me the nickname Moon Bear and called himself Sun Bear. Lachlan became Lock Bear, then Jase became Earth Bear, Arson became Air Bear, and Ransom became Death Bear. Weston came along after Carson's death so I deemed him West Bear.

“He claimed a group is trying to use that disc to create a portal to enter our realm and start a war. He claimed some are here already and they are terrorizing unsuspecting people. Oh, and he said he and his cousin are duel-natured. Human and bear. I’m not sure what he meant. Maybe a werewolf but a bear instead of a wolf?” “A werebear is a legendary creature. One appeared in Lord of the Rings. But some call them two souled or duel-natured. Gemma with the mirror repairing and the details… Are you sure you dreamt this? I mean, I was joking about finding a mystery. But you’re adding a lot more to this. You’re talking magic and danger in a way I know you don’t have any actual knowledge in this.”

Emelda complained but took him either way. She gasped. “And he’s gained pounds of weight, what in the moon goddess are you feeding him?” Emelda fired the question at her sister with an arched brow. Leslie shrugged. “Nothing, he’s just a large eater. He has a big appetite, courtesy of his wolf.” “Now,” she waved her hands. “Where is your mate? I’m dying to meet him!” Leslie squealed to her sister’s excitement. Emelda grinned. “He’s inside. Come let me introduce you two.” She pulled her by the hand. Leslie made a brief stop and glanced at her bodyguard. “Be on standby,” she instructed before following her sister inside.

Hazel rolls her eyes and I share a look with Athena. “Hazel, do you really feel like an outsider?” I ask. “Sometimes,” Hazel shrugs. “I mean Lilly and I have a mom separate from everyone. She is a Bear so not around all the time, like you are for Belle, Merrick and Leo, or like Athena is for Alice, Greg, and Macy.” “Do you not think we will always be here for you?” I ask her. “Oh, I know you all will. Mom was telling us that as she goes to find a new mate in July, we form a pack with you all. Bears don’t live in packs,” Lilly speaks up.

Cries of shock and agony could be heard in the spectator stands. Everyone turned to look at the source of the noise, and they saw that the place where the disciples of the Deer Pavilion were gathered rang out with cries. Everyone knew very well that Lesley was dead. It was far too unexpected. Everything had happened so quickly, so much so that they were caught off guard. They did not expect the beast's power to be so immense that it burned Lesley alive. Even Lesley's corpse was mutilated! "Goodness gracious, that beast was that strong! Lesley was already quite strong, but he's blown up from just one attack. He died in such a bad state—completely charred. I can't even look at him!"

All of a sudden a bear took off into the woods. With their inner communicating power, she saw her mother look back at her, and asked the chief to keep an eye on her. And she also asked Lola if she was alright but before Lola could respond, Suddenly the bear that ran off emerged again and ran up the hill and started to chase people around. This act caused a lot of pandemonium as wolves and people like Lola were running to safety. The different pack members followed the bear to stop him but he was not only strong but he was the fastest.

EPILOGUE NO.1 LESLIE’S POV (A few months later) “YOU SLEPT WITH WHO?!!!” I’m as big as a whale but I still manage to shoot up to my feet with a speed that can only be likened to that of lightning. My drawing board clatters to the ground in the process. I'm heavily pregnant but I still design to while away time. “Jesus, Leslie. Keep it down! His mother could hear you!” My phone carries Cole’s harsh whisper into my ears.
