Her hands were shaking, and she pressed them flat against her thighs and stared at the floor and tried to remember how to think. "What is today's date?" she asked. He looked at her. A pause. "June fifth." "The year." Another pause, this one longer. "2024." The words landed like stones dropped into still water, the ripples spreading out and out until they reached every edge of her. She pressed her eyes shut. The prison floor. The moon. The last tear she had ever cried. She had come back. She was really, truly back. And this time, she was going to make every single one of them pay.

Rebirth, being born again. I don’t know how true this term itself is, but after experiencing a near-death moment, I can say that the word 'rebirth' does hold deep meaning for me. It was a life-altering event that made me realize the fragility of existence and the importance of cherishing every moment. The near-death experience served as a wake-up call, propelling me to embrace life with renewed vigor and gratitude.

If this was my rebirth, then so be it. I would learn the game. And this time, I would be the one holding the strings.

I took rebirth. Life had given me another chance.

“I began to surround myself with myself because the only people who love and believe in me are me. “ “I realised that I was stronger than I ever thought I could be. I was kind, I was loving, and I was worthy of being loved in return.” “My mind flashed to one more thing, getting reborn by the moon goddess isn’t just giving me a second chance.” “I was reborn so I can have my revenge on the people who made my life a living hell.” “And now!!!, I will be starting the revenge with you.” I thundered in rage. “And the revenge starts by giving you a painful and anguish death.”

Freezes. Then slowly looks up at me. “You,” he breathes. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Why are you everywhere? In person, online… even in my dreams?” Everything clicks. “Tell me the dream,” I say quietly. He hesitates. “Wait… does that mean you’ve been reborn too?” The word settles between us. Reborn. Impossible. Yet the only thing that makes sense. “I don’t know,” I whisper. But I do. It hits me all at once.

“Of course I remembered how I fucking killed you but here you are making me do the same thing again. But this time I promise to do a clean Job and kill you for real. Don't worry, you won’t come back. You won’t have a chance to undo this.” I felt my knees wobble, my body threatening to collapse, how the fuck did she know about my rebirth? I thought it was impossible for anyone else to figure that out. “I… I am not… reborn,” I stammered, my voice weak, cracking. “I… I’m not…”

Threw it hitting the third robot and knocking it over. "There are hundreds more behind them!" Aris gasped, her face covered in sweat. "Benson look at the screen! The signal from the coast... It is changing!" Benson looked at the monitor. The icon for PROJECT REBIRTH was flashing red. "Maya what is that?" Benson asked, out of breath. "What is Rebirth?" "It is a plan " the voice said. "It is a way to move the computer brain.... It needs a human body that is not connected to the Network. It needs a brain that's still 'wild' and natural."
