The morning air was cold and biting against my skin. Around me, the city moved as if nothing had happened. I just couldn't understand the concept of being alive again. I feel pain, and I even bleed. So what does this mean? How am I still alive? I checked my phone, went online, and what I saw should have been fictional but it's not. The butterflies in my belly flapped happily. “Thanks for saying yes.” He whispered against my lips. I kissed him, “you know there was no way I would have said no.” “It's still expected of me to ask.” He grinned. Sighing, I placed my head on his chest, letting him rock me slowly. My life didn't have to end awfully in the end. I have been reborn to take the place of my father, and fight for the eternal freedom of my people. I am the reborn Luna Kira and I have come to live.

I had slowly come to terms that I had been reborn but a nagging thought still lingered at the back of my mind. A small calendar sitting on the dressing table caught my eyes and I instinctively reached for it. I flipped it to the date of my death, November 19th 2025, tapping it lightly with my finger. I had watched so many reborn movies but never would I have expected it would happen to me. I wasn't sure I could stop my death from happening but one thing I was sure of was that I wasn't going to repeat the same mistakes all over again. This time I had two goals: Use my skills to make Brian walk again and change my fate this time.

And so I stayed. Maybe it was the mate bond. Maybe guilt. But my soul refused to leave him. I thought that was it—forever stuck in limbo. Watching. Waiting. Then came the Blood Moon. Its crimson light wrapped around me like silk, igniting something ancient. Something sacred. My soul began to stitch itself back together. And then—I opened my eyes. My hands weren’t ghostly. Like he’d done this a thousand times. He turned toward the door. “Wait,” I blurted, the chain jerking when I tried to sit up. “Let me make a deal with you.” Dante didn’t even slow. “You’re not in the position for deals.” “I don’t care,” I snapped. “You seem paranoid about someone finding you and your charge. This made her jump off the bed with joy, completely forgetting she was naked. She walked close to the big wall mirror, admiring her leg. Her face had ceased to smile the day she woke up without a leg. She dared not look others in the face and had always accepted whatever life threw at her, but her glow was back. Her hand went to the mirror table, where she took her mobile, flipping through the calendar. It was 5 years earlier—she had been granted a rebirth 5 years earlier. Oh… just how much she missed it was very clear and written in her eyes. She felt so happy having her leg back and being given a second chance. Now everything made sense. She had been given a second chance to rewrite everyt

Life wasn’t perfect, but it was ours, and I was grateful for every twist and turn that had led us here. I didn’t tell anyone about my death and rebirth, I guess that is my own little secret I’d definitely be taking to my grave. I asked my Mom about my birth dad and when she showed me a picture of him, he was the driver that carried me home on that night I died. It warmed my heart that I still got to encounter him Atleast once. It goes a long way to show that I was very loved by my father, he’s definitely a huge driving force in my second chance at life.

That's why I'm going to have a sit-down and see whether I want to deal or not. I wondered what it would be like, to focus on something else for once. To look forward to living when I'd been so hellbent on dying. Knowing that you'd lived past the day you thought you were going to be dead is an odd feeling. It doesn't feel so much like borrowed time but a rebirth.
