The reluctant vow
Kemi squinted, reading her lips, then whispered, her voice trembling.
Zara sat frozen, her hands trembling over the laptop. Kemi leaned closer, replaying the moment, eyes scanning the girl’s lips.
“Listen… she’s saying something,” Kemi whispered. “Wait… I think it’s… ‘Regan, you killed your brother, Rami.’”
Zara’s chest tightened. She replayed the clip, frame by frame. Every time, the girl’s lips moved the same way. The words were unmistakable.
“Oh my God…” Zara’s voice was barely audible, a trembling whisper. She slammed the laptop shut, yanking out the flash drive. Her fingers clutched it tightly, hiding it in her pocket like a lifeline. “Oh my God… Regan killed his brother.”
