Austin chuckled. “What did you two do?” I sighed as Suzie finally handed over my phone. I was scrolling through my apps, looking for anything strange. Then I saw it. An Icon I don’t recognize. “What is this?” I demanded as I hit the icon. My eyebrows raised as a dating app, a Goddess damned DATING APP, loaded. They installed a dating app on my phone!? “It’s called Kindred Spirits. It’s a dating app. But it’s not like most dating apps meant for hookups.” Austin shrugged.

"Have you heard of Harding Tech?" Caitlin, Clara's personal assistant asked and passed a folder to her over the desk. "I have. But I haven't really done much research. What about them?" "Harding Tech is currently the best app developer in the country. They offer reliable iOS, Android, and Hybrid mobile app development services. They are known for their outstanding services for business applications, one of them includes a payment gateway too."

"What can you tell me about the app? Noah cleared his throat, his fingers moving over the papers in his hand. "Well, we've managed to incorporate some of the latest advancements in AI technology," he said, his voice eager and enthusiastic. "The app is capable of analyzing data in real time, predicting trends, and making recommendations based on user behavior. I nodded, my interest growing with each passing moment. "That sounds promising," I said, my eyes alight with curiosity. "And what about the user interface? "We've designed the interface to be intuitive and easy to use," Noah continued, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Users will be able to access the app from any device, and the data

Tessa replied. “ It doesn't have to be you.” “ You said it's doing multiple tasks at a time, what task is it?” Grayson asked. He turned the phone screen to them, with gloves in his hand. “ You see this blue app right here?” “ Yeah?” “ This isn't a normal app. It's running in the background with administrator permissions. It keeps the microphone active, tracks GPS location, and uploads data remotely.” “ Tra.. track GPS, what are you talking about?” Tessa asked, looking more confused.

He’s on my couch, watching an animation. How can they watch TV? I long press the GC app icon until it brings out the option: App info. It leads me to the app store, and I scroll down to the developer contact at the bottom of the page. The address is London. There’s a website icon above the contact, I tap on it and it leads me to another page. There’s info about the app, commonly asked questions and answers but nothing about the founders. I tap on the contact us option, and it leads me to a new email.

The reply speed was too slow. The assistant said, "Oh, Mr. Kingston, there are social media apps such as Whats app and I*******m to chat with!" "That's right, that's right, Mr. Kingston, and the things like F******k!" Anna, the intern who had just joined the company, also introduced, "Mr. Kingston, do you feel that it's too boring to be alone recently? And that's why you want to find a companion? I will recommend it to you. There are many social media apps now!"

He was not fond of this feeling. He sat on the top step of the porch and pulled out his phone. He unlocked it and stared at the different apps on the screen. They were mostly business-related, but he did have one social media app he liked to use on occasion. He clicked on it and scrolled through the feed for a second. He followed mostly influencers or models or business gurus. His feed was full of women posing in various vacation spots, in their bikinis holding drinks, posing with their friends. It all suddenly felt so empty and superficial to him.

That makes me giggle as I sit down cross legged on the bed, propping a couple of fluffy white pillows behind me. I begin to write and hear my phone buzz, it’s only notifications from my apps I use and trust me, I do use a lot of apps. You name it, I’ve got it. TikTok, F*, I*, P*******t, Twitter X, Tumblr. At some point I ought to turn them off because they can be a damn nuisance.

If IT found out I gave a third-party app permission to scan the company server, I’d be fired. "What the heck else does it know?" I mutter. "My bank statements? My medical records?" I grab my phone. I need to check the settings. I need to see exactly what I signed away. I open the app menu. I scroll down to the 'About' section, looking for the privacy policy. The screen flickers. A new page loads. ECHO Version 1.4.2 Developed by NeuralKink Labs. I stare at the name. NeuralKink. Subtle.
