It shows the problems in marriage, how everything is not happily ever after, hoe marriage takes work, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm reading it for the fifth time."

Pointing with pride to the futuristic building, he said, "Why should I be upset with Phoenix when I'm busy working on this?" As his taxi headed down Fifth Avenue toward his hotel, he got Clearer about the book. The book was going to be about living life to enjoy life. It was going to be about playing the game of Life to win rather than living a life of avoiding loss. Instead of living Below one's means, not enjoying the Cappuccino, the book was to be about living life beyond one's wildest dreams, he thought. Jane’s POV “The book of life isn't a single book?” I voiced my thoughts, unable to hold it in anymore. With everything they had been saying, it wasn't just the truth anymore, it was layers of truth. And it made everything more complicated. “The Book of Life isn’t just one,” Liam said, his voice steady but serious. “There are five.” Five? My eyes widened in shock as the number echoed in my head.

The queen asked, making herself home on the chair next to mine. I smiled sadly and handed her the book. “It's about a woman, or rather, the last few days of her life before she died from cancer.” “Sounds depressing, and yet so relatable. It's so funny how someone's life could be measured by what she did in her last days, as if she did not live a lifetime. I hope you won't mind lending me once you are finished.” She smiled and returned the book to me. “So, how are you? I heard about what happened last night.”

I said. I walked in fully and placed the book on the table near them. Uncle James leaned forward slightly. Papa’s eyes stayed on me. “You wanted to know what the Gem of Life is,” I said. “It’s not a stone. Not a jewel. Not something you put in a crown.” Dada’s jaw tightened. “Then what is it?” “It’s a person.” Silence dropped heavy. Papa blinked. “Explain.” I opened the book and flipped to the marked pages.

This person provided a ton of key info just to bring down their competitor. And that person's last name was Carver. After thanking the police, I left the station. On the way home, I remembered a weird phone call I'd gotten once. The number was unfamiliar, and all I could hear on the other end was muffled sobbing. I lifted my head and looked up at the blazing sun. Its warmth washed over me. "What do you feel like eating today, babe?" Julian asked, his eyes crinkled into a smile. "Anything you make will be perfect," I said.

CHAPTER 1 I enjoy coming to the park at night, it's a place where I can relax, think freely without having someone around to bother me for staring at nothing, lost in my thoughts. I like to contemplate the night sky full of stars, the beautiful moon shining brightly and just stop to think, will I always live like this for the next few years of my life? I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when I was months old, I am now 19 years old.

She could hear the faint tick of the clock above the nurses’ station. "Almost midnight" she thought while yawning. "Just an hour more and I can go home and sleeeep". That night was stressful as hell, for a moment, she wished no one had an emergency that required treatment for just the space of one hour. After her shift, who ever wants to die should die. Her phone buzzed. A message from Audrey. > AUDREY: You still alive, nurse girl? EVA: Barely. AUDREY: You’ll be fine. Sleep, eat, breathe. Repeat. That’s life.
