It is my story, but it is also every story of chosen family, of blended lives, of love that refuses to be bound by blood or convention. She stopped, read the words back, and felt a shiver run down her spine. This was it. This was the book. In the nursery, Gracie stirred, a soft murmur of infant dreaming. This was her story. And soon, it would be a book.

Not for closure. But for whatever comes next. Because my story didn’t start with my birth. It started the moment I chose to tell it.

She found love, she felt love like no other... But their story was anything but romantic. She had a bond with them that was based on a cruel woman's malicious intent. A plan carefully crafted to open the borders of the land, Lunaria. She came across a vampire, who started as a friend... Then she feared him after he fed on her sweet blood. Then she fell for him and the bond was real. The love was real, everything was real.

And in the house on Calloway Street a closed laptop held a hundred and one pages that were about to become what they had always been building toward, which was not a book exactly but the human record of a story that had begun before either of its central people existed and had arrived, through thirty years of people trusting the long version, at this bench, this morning, this ordinary Tuesday in the year everything became what it was always going to be. Complete. And continuing. Both. Always both.

We went inside the massive room, and she showed me all of her collections before she speaks. "The world is like a huge library that is filled with books. It’s a book that contains everyone's story. Everyone has their story written somewhere in the library. It can be a book of love between two lovers from a distance, an inspirational story of a family, a story of an unbreakable friendship, or the story of a war against long-time enemies. Our stories don't always have a happy endings. Some ends in tragedy and others end with a twist and unexpected turn of events. No matter what is written in our final chapter, it always ends up with a lesson.

Books piled everywhere on the floor. And more books near the fireplace. Do you know what it feels like?.... I suppose some of you would know but the rest of you…I doubt it! Do not get me wrong , this story is not like your ordinary love story – it is not a romance novel to begin with…But I guess every sad story begins with a heartache. Every broken heart was caused by some type of action that shattered it into a million pieces – every person has a reason as to why they act the way they do. Have you ever?....

After the party last night, saying goodbye to Ella, I asked her out for lunch this time, it was my turn to ask her out, she said yes. We went to our home with a big wide smile plastered on my face, this was the best birthday ever, how did she even managed to find a little that likes reading and books. She even work in the book shop, see my love for stories did pay out, we found her, we still didn’t know how to ask her about being a little, or being our little to be exact. But we did agree on taking things slow with her, on letting her get used to us on her own terms and conditions.

There is no greater way to write a book than to write it in the manner it wants to be written. You may feel the need to cultivate a story with a good ending and still end up messing around with the plot as the story unfolds. It was not until I realized that there was a way to tell a story without actually paying reference to the cause that I first thought seriously of writing this story. Three items of my experience combined to make me become aware of the presence of a life form that moves freely in the dark without being noticed. Brooklyn laughed as she shook her head and turned the water on to wash the breakfast dishes. Once she had finished, she dried her hands and walked back to her laptop, powering it on as she sat down. She set her elbows on the table, clasping her hands and leaning her chin against them as she stared at the screen. “How should I approach Addy’s new job as a story?” she murmured. “Should it be from her perspective? Should it be an overall piece on Barto Luciani?” Nodding as her computer finished booting up, she said, “I’ll start with a little research on him, then tie in her job, possibly showing a parallel between the two.”
