He held a sword that glowed with a righteous, nauseating white light. Lysander. The Hero. Beside him, floating on a smaller cloud, was Elara. She wore the white robes of a High Priestess, holding a staff tipped with a diamond. "Behold!" Lysander shouted, his voice magically amplified to boom across the room. "The Light has come to purge the Darkness!" "You're late," Vespera deadpanned. "And you broke my roof." Lysander landed on the floor, posing heroically. Elara landed beside him, wrinkling her nose at the smell of sulfur.

As he thought of yelling for them to keep quiet, his aid barged into the tent, “Your highness, they’ve arrived with the prince.” Prince Lumiere smirked and got up. Pulling on a robe, he looked at the women on the bed. “Wait for me.” He walked out of the tent covered in only a robe that hung over his shoulders. Making his way to the border, the dark elves parted a way for him. Prince Licht was staring in awe as he waited. The dark elves were fascinating indeed. Black hair, black nails, black clothing. It was only those traits that made them different. Their eyes were a variety of colours.

Elara stumbled backward. "No." Elias immediately stepped beside her. "What is it?" "This place..." Her voice shook. "It isn't my childhood home." The floor beneath them trembled. Seren grabbed Auren's hand. Auren's expression hardened. Then a sound came from the ceiling. Click. A tiny red light appeared. Elara stared at it. "No." Another light appeared. Then another. Five. Ten. Hundreds. Thousands. The entire ceiling filled with tiny red lights. Seren whispered,

They are able to see in the dark, they can control shadows and move through shadows, and they also have exceptional physical strength and agility. They usually have white hair, brown, black, or green eyes, and dark skin.

I asked. “No, I know about their kind but my family and people have never dealt with them. They are what is considered hybrid elves.” Leah answers. “What do you mean by hybrid?” Emerald asked. “There are two types of elves. Light elves and dark elves, just like there is light and dark fae. These specific elves are a mix between the two. The rest of us aren’t sure when they bred together but they did and they went off on their own. Neither light nor dark elves have anything to do with them and honestly, we thought that they stopped existing years ago.” Leah explains.

The blue glow from lanterns suspended throughout the city cast eerie shadows across his beardless face. He dodged between tall, slender figures whose skin ranged from ash-gray to deep purple-blue, their movements as fluid as the river that wound beneath the city. The dark elves stepped aside with practiced grace, though their expressions betrayed mild disgust at the dwarf's hurried pace and labored breathing.
