I recognize this dangerous creature from mythology books—it’s a medusa. Twin beams of bright green light streak from her eyes, striking into the center of the line of soldiers even as they let loose with a deafening fusillade of automatic weapon fire. Kai unleashes his arrow, which buries itself into the medusa’s right eye, extinguishing one of the green beams. A moment later, one of the flamethrowers erupts, covering the medusa in a stream of liquid yellow fire. The creature lets out an ear-splitting howl as she is consumed by the flames and falls lifeless to the ground.

Corbin gritted in pain and was still trying to get back on his feet when Medusa using her power, lifted him high, almost close to the sky before hauling him back down. Corbin at full speed smashed to the ground with his face making both his forehead, nose, and jaw break and blood gushed out. He yelled in distress not being able to get up. But he wasn't giving up yet, not until he kills Medusa who was smirking in satisfaction. Puffing some blood out, he managed to stand and surge toward Medusa.
