Marked by fate
Who knew that after four years of waiting patiently, the last few hours would be the hardest?
Fuuuuck.
Lincoln gets out of the car as well. He doesn’t pace up and down the track like I am. Instead, he stands on the small pebbled beach beside the lake, looking out at the view.
“It’s beautiful here,” he says after a while, and I still.
“Is this your first time in Blood Moon?” I ask, coming to stand beside him. His calm presence is doing a lot for me right now.
“Yeah, I’ve never made it down before.” He looks out across the lake, into the forest surrounding it, and up towards the mountains and waterfall beyond. “It’s stunning.”
