She opened the book to somewhere in the middle, reading the header on the brown, aged page. “‘Orpheus and Eurydice,’” she read. “A love story,” he commented. “A tragic one.”

The familiar brown cover, worn and faded from years of use, immediately brought her back to a time long before she had been trapped in Robert’s world. It was her mother’s book, one of the very few personal belongings that had survived after she had lost her. This book was like a life journal for her. She forgot to take that book with her when she was in the Brown's mansion for holidays and when she returned there and searched for it, Lissa told her that she had thrown the dusty book away.
