After she tucked herself in the small blanket, she picked up a novel. It was a queer novel. That was her favorite genre! Ambrose knew her too well! Ambrose saw the explicit cover of the book featuring two men. His lips twitched. Soon, his handsome face had a gloomy expression. Snatching the book from Larrisa's hand, Ambrose declared, "I'm confiscating this one!"

Mina looked at her a little moved. Hearing what she said, Lisa finally showed a satisfied look on her face, then took another copy of "One Hundred Benefits of Not Being Loved" into her hand, and then she patted her hand. satisfied hand. Lisa's POV I slammed the heavy book shut, my fingers tingling from the weight of flipping through so many pages. My eyes burned, not just from staring at ink for too long, but from the fire of triumph rushing through me. I had done it. I had read all of them—the very same books Enzo had marked, the ones he had teased me about, the ones he said would never hold my interest for long. Every word was carved into my mind like scratches on stone.

I forced myself to stay calm, put on an eager expression, and asked again, "So you're deciding I'm the heiress based on just this?" The hesitation on my face made their expressions sharpen. "Silly girl," Orson said. "You came here to claim your family, and you have all the traits of our daughter. Why ask questions like that?" I nearly frowned. Their answers were still vague and evasive.
