I step back over to my desk where I left Maddy sitting.. hey baby, you ok? With her lovely smile she answers yes. Sorry, this will get it handled soon. Grasping Maddy’s chin, I lift her face towards mine and give her a soft kiss. I never get tired of kissing her.

They have brought us up to believe that no love is stronger than our mates. I can’t shake the feeling that when the time comes, “I’ll choose Maddy over my fated mate.” I’ve loved no one more than her, so much that it leaves me speechless.

We were walking back to the pack house when Maddy and I heard a deafening growl. We ran towards the sound!

Right in front of the pack house steps stood Alpha Alonzo Emmett and his son, Young Alpha Ryan Amory Emmett, who prefers to go by Emmett. Alpha Alonzo is from the Dark Sky’s pack, an hour away from here.

Both father and son have a well-known reputation for being ruthless. Perfect example is now, Emmett has just slashed his claws across Mr. Larsen’s face. Larsens on his knees screaming in pain.

I walk up to Young Alpha Emmett. A slight harsh, don’t you think?

He turns to glance at me but freezes when he sees Maddy standing right in front of me, she's leaning against my chest with my arms wrapped around her small waist. His eyes turn dark and the sexual tension built up fast.

This guy must have a death wish, lusting after my girl. I let out a feral growl and everyone coward back except Emmett.
