Her Dad chuckled, "she said and I quote 'London is the only city with its culture and the only place to get a decent cup of tea'" They all burst out in laughter. Her Dad made a terrible British accent mimic. They haled a cab and sat peacefully. Lacey had her head on the window. She was watching as they passed every street light. Internally, she was pleased with the city but it was too closed up for her taste. She would miss out on the chance to watch or do a keg stand at a party. Or the thrill of getting busted for underage drinking and receiving the responsibility speech at one in the morning. Or contesting for class president. Or egging the principal's car.

The evening air outside Amara’s flat was crisp, carrying the faint scent of rain that had fallen hours before. The city of London hummed quietly beneath the glow of streetlights, traffic moving in steady streams, punctuated by the occasional wail of a distant siren. So we wandered.

I retort. “Girl, you are so funny !” he cackles in response. “So, you think with your wide nose and crazy big forehead, that kind of man will ever think of you any more than a quick shag? When I had to put up with you? That nigga will use your heart to sweep the streets of London. If you think I was bad, he will show you the real meaning of the word!” he shakes his head, his shoulders vibrating with his laughter. “You’re a real comedian. So, you think you have him wrapped around you.”

The weather is moody, sometimes sunny, sometimes so gray you wonder if the sun forgot we exist. The streets are alive, though. Street performers, food stalls, music spilling out from little pubs. And the accents… God, the accents could make you forgive someone for stepping on your foot.”

"I'm not the only one. My roommate Elodie thinks you aren't all that." Tomi gasped and placed his hands on his chest dramatically. "Must be one of the girls I rejected." I teased. “Oh, you are going to love London! It is so diverse and so diverting!” Trish proceeded in telling me about the cool clubs in London, the people she’d met, and other activities like bar crawling and other stuff. She seemed to have some fun in London. I let myself enjoy her story, listening to her every word while trying to picture what it was like, even though deep down I knew that I had to face reality and an angry sorceress in a matter of hours.

Therefore, I need to find a bus station! Though I need to hurry up to catch up with the time that is slipping from my hand. However, I have not forgotten that I am starving for too long. I need to find a shop as soon as possible. I started walking again in the hope to find a local shop selling some hot gripping burgers or sandwiches. Oh! Whom I am kidding? If I am in London I should try sandwiches as I have heard in past; London offers you the best sandwiches in the world and I am not in the mood of eating boiled potatoes.
