Not until she saw his eyes. A flicker. And then nothing. For a second, Anna thought she had imagined things. Liam’s fingers twitched beneath hers. Oh, yeah, she wasn’t imagining things. The heat feeling refreshing on my cold skin causing me to unintentionally lean into her embrace. Genuinely surprised I was able to move my head on my own for the first time in days. I slowly open my eyes blinking a few times to adjust to the soft glow of fluorescents while awaiting my vision to clear. When the room comes into focus I am met with the softest brown eyes staring back at me through long thick lashes.

I remembered all those romance novels Lillian had forced on me, where authors always compared heroines' eyelashes to small brushes. The markings moved from the moon, consisting of waves and swirls, moving down the sides of my face. Just behind the sides of my eyes and coming up under them slightly until they moved down towards my neck.

Liam had never looked at me that way. "Why are you staring at me like that?" I asked when I finally found my voice. "You've got something on your eyelashes" he said. I raised my hand to touch my eyelashes but he beat me to it. "Here, let me take it out for you" he said, his fingers brushing my eyelashes. Up close, I noticed the golden specks in his green eyes. 'I must be imagining it' I thought. I honestly have no idea how my gaze drifted to his cherry red lips. I was worried that I was going nuts already.
