[Elara's POV] He had kicked the sturdy timber dining table, causing me to jump as it fell to the wooden floor with a loud thud, shaking the decorations in the glass case. "What about you?" He shouted. "You simply wanted to be Luna, right? You knew Natalia and I were in a relationship, yet you shamelessly accepted the marriage and betrayed your own cousin sister by stealing her boyfriend! You lied to me. She told me everything!" I couldn't believe my cousin-sister. I had never thought she would do this. "I'm so sorry," I cried, starting to sob as I hugged myself tightly.

She would have fetched a high price for our Uncle. “It saddens me to think what has happened to her parents.” Lugh says to Orla who nods her head at him. “I don’t understand why I’m being spellbound. I don’t know magic, I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” I still didn’t get it. I’m not special. I’m not even strong enough to be a Luna. Brett must have felt my emotions through the bond as he kissed me gently on the lips and whispered. “You are special to me.”

But here, I can hear hope. I hear trust. And for once, I hear belief in my happiness.

"They are." Auren leaned forward, trying to whisper but still loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. "I think they missed each other." Alaric's jaw tightened just a little. "They did." "For a really long time," Auren added seriously. "...Yes," Alaric said, his voice heavy with the weight of those lost years. "That's sad," the boy whispered. Alaric looked up at the stars for a long moment. "It is." Auren rested his chin gently on his grandfather's head. "But they're finding each other again now."

"Come. Sit." I sat. She looked at me the way she always did, like she could see straight through whatever face I had decided to wear tonight. "How was the ceremony?" she asked. "Wonderful," I said. "Very glamorous. Very expensive. Very not us. Elder Mara wore her good robes. The ones without the gravy stain. So you know it was a special occasion." My mother's mouth curved. "And?" "And Victoria Hale is going to be Luna." I kept my voice light. "The whole pack is very excited. Someone released actual flower petals into the air Mama. With their hands. Like they had nothing better to do with them."

Jenna sat beside me, her head resting on my shoulder. Shock still weighed heavy. Tamara finally spoke. “I remember her differently.” “Tati,” she added. The name shifted something in me. Who would have thought the woman so close to my brother was his rejected Luna’s mother?

Joseph corrects me “She is my mate and your luna.” I say through clenched teeth. “She is unclaimed.” Corvin says and I frown at him as the word lands heavy in the room. “And an unclaimed mate is not a Luna.” Corvin continues and I growl again. “She is mine.” I say firmly and Joseph arches a brow at me. “Then where is she?” He asks.. My jaw tightens. “If she wanted to be your mate, and your Luna, why is she not here? Why did she leave?”

Just as I’m about to say something, argue that I wasn’t that good of a girl, Laura comes back into the room, this time with a line of crew members and cameras behind her. She grins at us once we’re looking back at her, clapping her hands. “Alright guys, who’s ready to film Luna’s choice?!”

“If you want me to truly forgive you, then let the wolf live.” Nicholas was appalled. Was his Luna crazy? What is she thinking, defending a rogue? Does she know who this lady is?

As if in response to his question, in the distance, he heard a loud howl and recognized it immediately. It was Blade. "Son of a b*tch!" River swore. "Allen, double the number of warriors, and make it as quick as possible." "We're headed that way, Alpha. But what are we looking for?"
