The master bedroom.” “The master bedroom? Then what about you?”

ASHER’S POV Stopping at my closed door, I slid it open. The familiar creak echoed through the silent hallway, a sound that had become a comforting routine. I pushed the door open and peered inside. There she was, Lisa, peacefully asleep in my bed. Her chest rose and fell rhythmically, her breaths a soft whispers in the quiet room. Her face, bathed in the gentle blue light of the moon, was a picture of tranquility. Closing the door behind me, I ventured deeper into the room and paused by the bedside. I found myself captivated by her beauty, a radiance that seemed to radiate from within her.

As usual, she will give her baby breast milk, change her diapers and finally get out of the room. It had become her habit to check the living room after she comes out from her room. Usually, there will have a few tins and bags of snacks on the sofa and the coffee table. She found out that Louis seems to have trouble sleeping at night. I patted his head before I stood up and gone outside of my room. I stretched my arms as I walk towards the bathroom. But before I could even get inside the bathroom, I noticed something out of the window. In the backyard, there's a huge sleeping mat. I saw Huxley and the others sleeping on that sleeping mat outside. Why did they sleep there? "Good morning, Lili." Mavis greeted me with her usual cheerful smile. She looks like she's in a good mood. Did something happen? "Good morning." I greeted her back and then went inside the bathroom. I am still sleepy but how can I sleep in my room when Kyros is sound asleep there? We're not even a couple so how can we sleep together just like that?

I took this chance to get some beauty sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke up to an empty bed. I glanced at the clock and saw that it was six in the morning. I groaned, Lorenzo must have again fallen asleep in the living room, holding Aurora in his arms. He really needs to stop doing that. Yawning, I slowly stretched my arms out as I rolled out of my warm and cosy bed, feeling oh so lazy. Making my way to the hallway, I paused to listen when I heard gentle murmurs in the air.

I just wanted to sleep until this version of my life was over. I woke up to the sound of shadows. The room was bathed in the deep, purplish-gray of twilight. I checked the wall clock: 7:00 PM. I had slept for nearly seven hours, a heavy, dreamless slumber that left me feeling groggy and disconnected from my own limbs. The Lodge was quiet, but as the fog of sleep cleared, I realized it wasn't empty. There were voices coming from the living room. Low, rhythmic voices that hummed through the floorboards.
