One glowing crystal overhead bathed the space in pale blue light. In the centre of the chamber lay a massive white wolf, curled on a bed of velvet and stone. Her fur was thick, clean, and untouched by time. Her chest rose and fell with slow, steady breaths.

The wolf growled. “It is okay, Joel, He won't hurt me,” I tell Joel as the wolf approaches me and sits. His tail wraps around me. I am instantly relaxed. I rub my face in his fur and enjoy his warm. I feel safe, and I calm down. I am hit with the scent of sandalwood and citrus. Luka’s scent. “What?” I questioned out loud. I am his. He is mine. We are one. Like you and the white wolf. My eyes bug out of my head a bit. I want to ask questions.

The wolf's bay carried through the air. Lucas wasted no time running towards the sound. Certain this was it, one of his soldiers found something. The air smelled like crayons and kid shampoo and that faint, indefinable pup‑scent that made her wolf settle even on the worst days. She knocks on a door and a very pretty woman answers. I take one look at her, and I know she's a wolf. Confused, I asked her if I may speak to her for a few. She nods and then bares her neck. She must feel my Luna power. The hotel manager leaves us alone, and I say, " Hi, can i come in?" she nods and opens the door.
