“Not even close,” I say, struggling not to laugh. “He’s deep in lecture mode. Something about respect and the downfall of modern youth. I strongly doubt he’s going to be helpful.”
Luca catches my eye again, and I see the mischief dancing there. He raises his eyebrows slightly, then tilts his head toward the door in a silent signal.
I frown, not quite getting it.
Then he winks and, with an exaggerated gesture, points to something across the room—a dusty old flag hanging from the wall. “Wow, look at that!” he exclaims, his voice spiked with fake enthusiasm. “Is that an original battle standard from the Lycan Wars?”
