Lucian was amused by my shock, smirking coldly. “What else did you think? I didn't become a grandpa because of child marriage.” I closed my lips shut as the heat crawled up my cheeks, turning me into the most embarrassing red tomato. It was the second time I acted stupidly and got scolded by Lucian in a matter of a few hours. So, it was better to keep my questions locked away for later. After a long ride, the carriage rattled to a stop in front of a looming structure that looked like it had crawled out of the pages of a forgotten epic. The castle tower was high, its spires brushing the storm-grey sky, every stone humming with age and the weight of history.

Nope, let him learn the hard way. The same men from that night at the restaurant were there looking anxious, as if they'd been waiting for us. One of them stepped forward as if to say something but Lucien held up his hand and rebuffed him without breaking stride. "Not now uncle. Dennis!" He called out to someone who happened to be a very posh looking middle-aged human, vampyre mix. "Your highnesses!" He bowed and from the way Lucien rolled his eyes I was guessing this was not a regular occurrence.

She is friendly to all her consumers so I didn't read into it so much. I placed the cup on the counter and walked around to her. The guy, she talking to was handsome. He had all females' eyes of him and some males as well. As soon as we made eye contact, I smiled. "I am sorry to barge into the conversation." I said to him and turned to Ms. M. "I have to go, Ms. M." I kissed her cheek. "Lucifer is in the office today." She smiled. "I keep telling you to leave your cup on the table."

She replied. "Okay, go, but I will go with you." Medusa said trying to bring out her wings when Lucinda stopped her with her hand. "No, I will go alone, and I will be quick." Lucinda assured her and spread her wings in the air, leaping down the balcony toward the earth's ground as she entered it like a spirit, passing layers after layers on her way to Lucifer's castle. She flew toward his castle at great speed, flapping her wings in the air, with her eyes fixed on it. She fell from the roof into the castle and landed on the ground in the middle of Lucifer’s throne room, breaking the ground as she stood there, staring at Lucifer, who was in his throne.

“Maybe it’s from the whole activity at Alpha Gunner's Castle. I still do not feel myself. Lucian didn’t respond right away. His eyes narrowed slightly, like he was trying to peer through layers of me. Like he could see the lie on my skin and was just deciding whether it was worth peeling off. Had he figured it out? Did he know? Or was I just a flicker in the corner of his vision, interesting enough to keep, but not enough to see? My heart wouldn’t stop racing. If he really suspected the truth, why was I still breathing? Was he playing a longer game? Testing me? Or waiting for me to trip? The castle walls finally came into view, jagged and high against the dusky sky. Something inside me sank.

A sharp shudder ran through Lucien's chest, he staggered back, into the shadowed room. ‘How did he see me?’ he wondered. The chamber sat high above the yard. The glass clouded with age, yet the old man raised his hand and gave Lucien a single wave. Lucien's eyes widened at that. He kept looking until the carriage’s wheel crunching through the gravel finally disappeared through the iron gate of the royal packhouse. His walk with Papa Ganda wasn't as expected. Lately, nothing has happened as expected. This was day three since Lillian was cast into the dungeon. He knew his sister would never forgive him, and he wasn't sure what to do.

I turned my head and looked at my swollen belly and muttered under my breath; “baby, you have to protect mummy or she will be eaten by the big bad wolf.” My day was spent eating and sleeping. I could not do anything in this period of time. I even felt like looking through the documents was very tiring so, I just let them be. “By the way darling, do you have any news about that psychopath?” I asked Lucien who was pealing an apple on the sofa. “We have some leads but we have not pinpointed his exact location.” Lucien said. “It has been so long and his minions have been taken care of. Just what exactly does he want?” I inquired. Ever since the competition, Lucien has been trying to find Benson.

Lucian said, his voice sounding deep and dangerous. "Last time she was under your trap, you failed and I think it is time for me to make the next move".The man's voice said curtly. "Did you do what I asked you to do?". Lucian asked, ignoring his comments. "Yes". He responded. "I discovered that there is a weak wall at the back of the castle, we can attack from there". He said. "But all we want is the weapon and Lucifer's mate is the weapon we just need that could bring down this castle, I don't why you choose to do everything the hard way". The man added.

Elena chose to answer first since all the maids were shivering like a leaf, " She..She is inside..She..She seems terrified.. Lucien.. Don't be harsh on her.." Lucien didn't give her the chance of completing her words as he rushed inside his bedroom. That stained sheet was changed and new set of fresh clothes were given to the dead body. Lucien heard about the sudden attack that occurred in castle when he was going for Black River Pack's territory. His heart jumped out of his chest when he learnt from the guard that the murderer had went straight for Isabella's room.

And another. Cassius stumbled backward, his breath catching in his throat as the perimeter security was systematically, silently dismantled in seconds. From the pitch black shadows of the archway, a massive, heavily scarred figure stepped slowly into the blinding light of the chandeliers. His crisp white shirt was ruined. His hands were wrapped in dark tactical tape, dripping with fresh blood. His pitch black eyes were entirely consumed by a feral, apocalyptic hellfire. Lucian Sterling had arrived. And the King was ready to burn the castle to the ground.
