I stepped forward. "Lilith McBain," I said, and the clearing stilled. "Ultimate Alpha. Born of the Moon Goddess." The words were not a declaration. They were a fact. The reaction came in waves. Gasps. A sharp intake of breath here, a murmur there. Awe rolled off some of them like heat. I saw it in widened eyes, in lowered chins. Others looked stunned, as if a story told to frighten cubs had just stepped into flesh before them. A few stared openly, defiance etched into their posture.

Lucas didn’t turn to look at them, he just kept his eyes fixed on his bottle of wine. But most importantly, from the side of my eyes, I could hear Christopher Lorenzo's heavy, furious breath from the front row, and the snap of media cameras trying to capture my humiliation. My face burned with a terrible, hot shame. I stared at the side of Lucas's face, but his jaw was completely relaxed, his expression totally bored as he swirled the dark liquid inside the bottle. “Errr…” the priest adjusted his tiny glasses once again, “do you care to repeat that Mr Lucas Lorenzo?” He asked solemnly.

I started, “is that I haven't had something so pure and beautiful and alive in so long. I really need this,Lucas. Just this little thing,please.” For what seemed like an eternity,he didn't move. He just observed me with his icy, searching gaze that made my treacherous heart leap wildly and fluttered. I was preparing for his refusal and maybe calling Adrian to get rid of the bunny immediately. But he just breathed out steadily. “You're a piece of work,Lucia.” My eyes brightened. “So…I can keep it?”. He shook his head in an almost comical manner, whispering something under his breath before meeting my eyes.

*flashback* “Yo, Trig, what the fuck are you doing?” Trigger and I hear the door to the side of the building slam shut and turn our heads in the direction of the sound, seeing an angry B storming towards us. When I hear his deep growl, I flinch and move backward. I flick the ash from the cherry of my cigarette before placing it between my red, full lips and sucking as he watches hungrily. Goosebumps prickle all over my body as a chill runs down my spine, causing me to shudder. A seductive, devilish grin appears on his face as he takes my notice of the sight of him in his fucking underwear. “Then Hevian suffers even more. Besides, my father will soon arrange a marriage alliance to Hevian with my sister.” Lucien’s gaze hardened. “You’re a monster.” Eshnu smirked. “And yet you’re still standing here. Look, I will do everything to maintain my family’s prestige.” For several seconds, Lucien said nothing. Then, slowly, he pulled back his hood completely, revealing the sharp features that looked disturbingly similar to Hevian’s. “But remember this,” Lucien said coldly. “If your stupidity causes this plan to fail… I’ll personally kill you.”

He closed his eyes, a cold, spine chilling laughter erupting from his lips which only made Seraphina narrow her eyes a little. It was not a common sight to see Lucious laughing. He looked more like the devil when he does that. “ Amazing” He simply said opening his eyes which was back to their normal deep blue color as he stared back at her . His face had returned to it’s usual blank expression as he stared back at her.

Just silence. I stopped in front of him and forced myself to look up. His eyes met mine and the priest began to speak. Lucien didn’t look away, he didn’t blink. “Do you, Lucien Stone, take Elena Rivera” “I do,” he said quickly, like he was checking a box. It was flat, cold. It was like this was just another deal to him. The priest turned to me and I swallowed. “I do,” I whispered. Our voices hung in the air.

“Get up please, you don’t have to do that.” She looked up at me with an expression I couldn’t quite read, hands folded in front of her, watching my face like she was trying to figure something out. “Those people outside,” I said. “The man in the car and the one who came to meet us, who are they.” She hesitated and blinked. “Luna, are you feeling alright?” “Just answer me.” “The man in the car is the Lycan King,” she said carefully. “King Aurelius.
