They were out of time. Mason looked at Bramble. Bramble looked at Liora. Then he did something Mason had never seen him do. He reached into the darkness. Not to destroy it. Not to restore it. He took Liora’s hand. Green light met black. Neither consumed the other. They simply touched. Liora gasped. The darkness around her changed. Not lighter. Not smaller. Free. Bramble pulled. Liora crossed one step. Then another.

It writhed, hissing, straining toward the Heart. The beam above flickered dangerously. Mara inhaled once. Then placed both hands fully into the sphere of light. It did not burn. It unfolded. Light poured through her veins, up her spine, into her thoughts. The chamber exploded in brilliance as lines of energy shot upward through the lighthouse tower. Above, the beam roared to life—ten times brighter than before. Out at sea, the Drowned One recoiled violently, its colossal form thrashing backward into deeper water.

"Your father gave me that the night he died." Silence. Heavy silence. Then suddenly— BOOM! A massive explosion echoed from outside. The entire house shook violently. Everyone screamed. The lights went out completely. Darkness consumed everything. Then Lily ran to the window. And her blood turned to ice. Because out on the island— the black tower had begun glowing. A faint blue light. Pulsing. Like a heartbeat. Once. Twice. Three times. And then— a second light appeared. Near the base of the tower. Moving. Like someone carrying a lantern. He came out from behind the trees and moved a little closer to his victim. Selene sensed she wasn't alone, so slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Suddenly, a man who looked like twenty years old emerged from the bushes. He had close-cropped black hair and dark blue eyes. Many of Selene's high school classmates could envy him his tall and broad-shouldered figure. But first of all, this man was really deadly handsome - she had never seen anyone more beautiful than this stranger in her life, and the aura that surrounded him attracted her like a magnet. Inside was an outfit that seemed to absorb the very light around it, perfect for Claud’s stealthy fighting style. The cloak was made of a dark, almost inky fabric that flowed like liquid shadow. It was lightweight, allowing for swift and silent movement, yet it had a durable weave that could withstand the rigors of battle. The exterior was matte black, preventing any light from reflecting off its surface and betraying Claud’s position in the darkness. The cloak's design was intricate, with an array of hidden pockets and compartments for carrying essential tools and

everyone chorused around him. Lucifer pointedly avoided looking at Amber. He was angry about the stunt she pulled today. But her words stung more than he cared to admit. She completely disregarded him in front of everyone. He knows everyone is wearing complete black outfits to blend in. They don't want to risk shining like a sore thumb and being targeted by the dark creatures. As much as they saw and heard about them, the dark creatures prefer Black. So if they wore black then they can blend easily and the dark creatures will not be able to differentiate between them and their own. At least it won't be that obvious and it might cost them precious seconds to attack.

The faint illumination becomes a lifeline, a guiding beacon amidst the encroaching darkness. I tighten my grip on the flashlight, feeling the coolness of its metal against my skin, anchoring me to the present moment. With determination in each step, I leave the storage room, the flashlight's beam casting a flickering glow on Lucian's figure. “We’ll help you break that sky blue barricade around her body, King!” suggested Claudia Luvin. Lisa Felisha and Claudia Luvin started to emit their dark brown lights. The dark brown lights shone towards Sumico’s whole body which was still covered by her sky blue breath. Feeling tremendously jumpy as well as nervous, Sumico carried on closing her eyes tightly and praying at the quay of her thought, mind and feeling.
