The ballroom glittered like a dream—golden chandeliers, endless marble, a string quartet playing a haunting tune. Elaina stepped out of the town car in a deep emerald gown that clung to her curves. Her long hair had been pinned into elegant waves, a few loose tendrils brushing her collarbone. Next to her, Daisy was radiant in navy blue, eyes wide as they took in the grandeur. “Don’t faint,” Daisy whispered. “We’re just… mingling with billionaires.”
