She was telling someone—probably the chef—that she wanted the grapefruit served peeled and halved, “not quartered like a roadside diner.” I stifled a sigh. Lyla was a woman of particular tastes, high-pitched grievances, and expensive taste in everything from wine to handbags. She was not the first woman to flit through Charles’ life, but she had lasted the longest. I suspected it was because she truly did love him, though she had the emotional range of a soap dish and the subtlety of a fire alarm.

Gianna asked, pulling out a chair for her. “Yes, not much to do today,” Elmy replied, placing her bag on the table before sitting down. She was wearing a casual outfit, sweats with a shirt and had a tote bag hanging on one of her shoulders. “Sit down, please.” Lyla gestured towards the couch opposite to me. The woman sat down and her eyes locked with me. “Good to finally see you, Noah Carter.” She said with a smirk on her face. No matter how much beautiful her outer appearance was, her inner personality was making her look ugly.

They have a major attack on your pack planned." Kyra's thoughts were racing. "When? What is the number of them?"

Georgia said apologetically. Thomas waved and said, “No need. We just have to sit here quietly for a few minutes. I believe Mrs. Diaz will figure it out.” Huh? She would figure it out?
