Making my way over to her desk three books lay open stacked on top of each other so parts of each could be seen. The top book I had absolutely no doubt I had never seen. Columns running down each page with names, dates, a single letter either B,Y or R and the last column all had DECEASED written. Thumbing through the pages, the rest of the book offered no explanation to the meaning of its contents. Moving it aside the second book is filled with handwritten notes. I recognized Miss Evens writing right away. There are two others, one a elegant script and the other very hard to read. Scanning the pages the main theme focused on some kind of hybrid Lycans.

she said quietly. When I looked up at her, she almost looked embarrassed. Her cheeks were a rosy red, and she bit her lower lip. The books looked like they had seen better days. They were frayed, dusty, and ripped. “What are these?” I asked with a hair of a smile. “They are all the books on lore about Lycans. I thought they may be helpful to get Luna back.”

Upon hearing what Jordyn had just said, Wynn stilled for a moment as a subtle smile played on her lips. The beginner and advanced editions of this book had the same cover. Wynn was reading the advanced edition. She hadn't even encountered this sort of detailed content during her PhD, let alone in her undergrad. She had been reading a lot lately, and since Linda visited the Lockets almost every day, she knew the book had both a beginner and advanced version. At Jordyn's words, she figured Celeste was definitely reading the beginner's version. She almost burst into laughter. However, since Trevor and Beck were there, she held it back.

She moved past the bookshelf, her fingers brushing old business manuals, legal briefs and financial files. But then something strange happened. One of the books wasn't aligned properly which made Isla curious and she pulled it out. A soft clunk echoed as a black leather notebook fell out from behind it. Isla froze on the spot. The pages were brittle with time. Most were scribbled with Claire’s brutal written notes in shorthand.
