They devoured. “Monsters don’t love, remember? We devour. And I told you last night ” He crushed the cigarette out on the nightstand without breaking eye contact, hiss sharp, “I’ll consume every piece of you until nothing is left but me.”

“He does need a bath. He has been in the yard playing with Mo every night, I think.” “Mo? Who’s Mo?” Max asked as he realized who Dillon meant. “You named the big guy, Mo.” “Well, yeah, I mean, back in the ’70s, one of them terrorized a town near St. Louis, and they called it Momo for Missouri Monster. The big guy isn’t a monster, but Mo seems to fit him for some reason,” Dillon explained. Max began to laugh, put his hand on Dillon’s shoulder, and said, “Oh yeah, there is no denying who your mother is. You are just like her. Come on, let’s get started so we will be done before your mom and Wren get home.”
