THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

THE CEO ALREADY KNEW

And chaos is just fear wearing a different mask. --- The mail comes at noon. Bills. A catalog. A letter from Mireille — she and Hana are traveling through Italy, eating pasta, arguing about directions. She sounds happy. The kind of happiness that comes from choosing something instead of running from it. There's also a package. Brown paper, no return address. I open it on the porch. Inside, a book. A memoir. The cover is simple — a photograph of the Seine at dawn, gray and gold and beautiful. The title: The CEO Already Knew.

In the Bad Boy’s Possession

In the Bad Boy’s Possession

I couldn’t go outside because as my mother said, it was going to turn into a story so I slid into the first empty room I saw, which happened to be the library with a grand piano at the front. I exhaled heavily, loosening my tie, glad to be out of that stifling hall. I leaned against the piano and stared down at my phone, at the text I’d sent her before she decided she wasn’t checking her phone anymore. It was a simple “yeah” but the Madelyn I knew would have replied anyway. She didn’t even read it this time. Fuck. What was I doing?

Kiss me

Kiss me

Since that day, until today, we have not shared a room. I leave the table to go to my room; I will continue my reading. I will sit on the balcony to get some fresh air and finish my novel. I am reading the novel by Déesse: The Mafia's Fatal Attraction; it's so exciting, and I really like the heroine. She has a straightforwardness that I admire; she embraces who she is, something I cannot do.

The Alpha's Rose

The Alpha's Rose

TYSON I leave the bedroom and see Maddie sitting at the island, reading a book with a glass of orange juice in front of her. It doesn’t look like she has taken even a sip of her juice, her eyes are huge and wide, completely focused on her book. Just as I get to her, she lets out an audible, “Nooooooo!” “Are you okay, Mads?” “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe the author killed off the King! Why would he do that? Now, the vampires will overrun the castle.” Her eyes are still wide and unfocused on her surroundings, she’s completely enthralled in her supernatural fiction.

Readers… please note the tag of “hate to love” is incorrect. I’m not sure why it has appeared on the page, but it was not one I picked as a descriptor. This story is not a hate to love relationship between the main characters and I’m sorry if it has caused any confusion.
Linwood
One of the best authors on this site!! Love her!! The story is well written, progresses well, engaging and I can really feel for the characters. Love the strong female characters that have strength of will, personality, without the whole damsel in distress trope, excellent strong male leads.

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

"Yes, I remember." Wanda continued, "The chubby one is called Madison. She added me on WhatsApp, and that's where I learned all this. She even recommended a few books to me, saying I'd definitely learn something if I read more. "I've had plenty of free time at home since we moved to the city and stopped farming, so I bought those books and read them. I have to say that they've been really helpful…" Ollie sighed. "Our family really owes them a lot. Otherwise…"

I sympathize also with the character of Sam, he deserves a good woman who will love him truly, hope the author will end his unrequited love with Miranda And Paul, hope will finally have a loving ending with Miranda!

A Shade of Violet

A Shade of Violet

My voice is barely audible as I take another deep breath. A knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts and I quickly jump up, "Come in." Hestia opens the door with a smile on her face and a plate full of cookies, "Wanna try some oatmeal chocolate cookies?" I raise an eyebrow, "Oatmeal chocolate?" She nods, "I don't like raisins so I replaced it with chocolate chips, want one?" I take one hesitantly as I, too, do not like raisins. I smell it and the sweet scent lifts my spirits, the first bite exploding with flavor.

Fourteen Days To Forever

Fourteen Days To Forever

He doesn’t have to search for long before he picks up on Madelyn’s scent outside. He hears her laugh before he sees her, sitting in a coffee shop, book discarded on the table and talking to… his aunt? Although Millan is a bit weirded out, he decides that would be distraction enough from Axel Brook and the whole ‘you don’t belong here’ moment. They’re both in an animated conversation and don’t notice Millan approaching. “There’s no way you’ve read that one! “I have.” “No way! I had to fight the Council to get it because it was so hard to find!”

Unholy December

Unholy December

She picked up her coffee. Sat at the kitchen table. Outside the rain kept falling on Millbrook, steady and grey and indifferent to the small revolution happening inside this house. Three days. Just three days and already the contours of something were visible — not perfect, not easy, nothing like what either of them had imagined their lives looking like. But real. God, it was real. Her phone buzzed. Sara: Coffee? I have information and pastries and opinions about all of it. Ayana smiled. Miller's. Eleven, she typed back.

Hot Billionaire Series

"Madison, when I first met her, I thought she was just a mere maid, but I was wrong. Madison can be a mood lifter; she makes my heart flutter with her simple words, I was amazed how she looked upon the challenges in life, and she was the first one who patted my head—" "But you don't like getting your head patted?" Mila blinked twice as she digested what Dylan had spoken. Dylan dislikes being touched in the head, and Mila had never sought to pat his head, but a mere maid named Madison Lopez was the first person Dylan allowed to touch his head.
