She was draped in nothing but a thin, damp towel that clung to her curves, her skin flushed pink from the heat. She didn't flinch when she saw me. She didn't scream. She simply stood there, dripping water onto the marble floor, looking at me with eyes that were no longer hollow or afraid.

The girl looked up from her novel and gave Camden and Valerie a stare. “Nerd.” Camden coughed, smirking at the girl on glasses and when Valerie and the girl gave him a stare, he stopped. “I’m Maeve.” The girl said, stretching her hand forth to Valerie with a smile. “Valerie, but, you can call me Val.” Valerie took her hand with a smile of hers. “I’m Camden.” Camden answered as he forwarded his own hand to Maeve who gave it a look and completely ignored him. “What’s your major?” She asked, turning to Valerie who snickered, suppressing her laugh.

She simply let out a laugh, before stating, “my mate knows that if I set my mind to something, that it’s happening.” I was working on putting some invoices into a spreadsheet when Maeve came into Callan’s office with a pep in her step. I looked up from my desk that we had added the day prior. Her smile was as bright as the pink sweater she had on. She looked completely out of place in this dark, dark neutral, house. She braced her hands on my desk before hoisting herself up to sit atop my desk. “Cal, I am taking my new bestie to a Wine and Sip class at Lemon Drop tonight,” she said with a smile.
