The Tyrant Emperor and his Eccentric Mage

The Tyrant Emperor and his Eccentric Mage

A day or so, had passed since that conversation and Alexis spent most of her time holed up, trying to read through the thick books Emilia had left her. The books were more packed than her college books and shortly after her head would be spinning. Terms like, central mana, epidermal mana, mental mana and emotional mana. After a while she had to read through the same pages multiple times, barely grasping an understanding. One of the books, the one on magical creatures was actually interesting. It had long chapters that focused on a single creature, it was packed with their abilities, mental capabilities and even hobbies and preferences with dislikes labeled boldly. Aurora and the Heart of Magic

Aurora and the Heart of Magic

AURORA’S POV I couldn’t have imagined such a death even in my darkest fantasy; suspended in the air, surrounded by candles with weird fragrance. My death meant the return of someone very evil. It also meant the death of my little girl. I tried to use my magic but it was all in vain. My body was drained of all strength. Despair had taken root in my heart and had grown like Cuscuta engulfing my heart; draining it of the tiniest bit of hope that was left.

The Dragon Duke's Flower

The Dragon Duke's Flower

But just based on the scattered books lying around, she surmised the old noble wasn't like that. "Come closer," said the old Magus. The purple mist grew into a small purple cloud. Taking a deep breath, Lili walked towards the old magus. The weird cloud made her tremble, but she didn't ask questions and simply followed along. When she reached the middle of the room, she heard the old magus voice again. "Stop right there and don't move." She followed and kept still like her feet had grown roots. It didn't bulge on the spot after the word. Not even by a step. Her heartbeat galloped. She could even hear the pumping blood coursing through her veins as if a giant beast had set its eyes on her.

Of Wolves and Magic

Of Wolves and Magic

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

I hope you learn some responsibility soon," before disappearing back into her apartment. Sunny watches her mother retreat and feels a pang of guilt. The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha

“I will be right here.” He nods reluctantly releasing my hand only when the Mage begins to speak again. “Sit,” he instructs. I lower myself onto the cool stone at the circle center. The moment my palms touch the etched lines, the magic responds recognizing me, welcoming me. It does not surge. It waits. “Breathe,” the Mage says. “Open the channel as you did before. Do not search. Do not demand. Invite.” I close my eyes. Kira stirs alert but calm. With me.

The Fae Serenade.

The Fae Serenade.

The walk to Maggi quarters is longer than expected, winding through corridors I’ve never been allowed down before. Eventually we stop in front of a huge mahogany door, draped in bones. Literal bones. King Sven doesn’t knock. He just pushes the door open, and the first thing I see makes me freeze. Maggi is sprawled face-up on the floor, arms splayed out like she’s been dropped from the ceiling. There’s a goblet tipped over near her hand, dark liquid staining the floorboards. Her silver hair forms a halo around her. No movement. No sound.

Jade: The Hybrid Mage

I glanced around, noting the way the other participants seemed to mask their emotions—some with smug confidence, others with tightly controlled nerves. "Step forward, Jade Ishola," the mage said. I hesitated for a heartbeat, then moved to stand before him. His eyes, glowing faintly with a bluish hue, locked onto mine. "You will be shown a story," he continued. "It is not a lesson, nor a guide. It is a fragment of history, one that will inform the challenges you face. Watch closely, listen carefully, and remember—truth is not always what it seems." I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat.

Seven Magics Academy

Seven Magics Academy

When I stood in front of the book, the first page turned on its own. "First lesson of the Seven Magics Academy," Pops said, eyeing me. "You must never touch any of the pages in the books in this room. Touching them will increase their speed of deterioration." "Then, how?" I began, putting my hands at my sides so I wouldn't accidentally touch one. "Like this." He smiled, then leaned in close to the book. "Chapter One," Professor Pops said. The book instantly flicked to the page that said Chapter One.

The Mage's Heart

The Mage's Heart

I had always thought of mages as quiet, studious types who locked themselves into towers and read incessantly between midnight walks through graveyards. “You don’t look like a mage,” I said, before thinking it through, and blushed immediately. “And what do mages look like?” he sent me a look over his shoulder. “I don’t know. Skinny and pale? You look more like a knight,” I decided. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he returned to his book. Over his shoulder, I could see the writing, but I could not read it. It was uncomfortable to look at it too long. The writing looked as if I should know what it said, and yet, my eyes could not make it out, and that contradiction made my eyes lose focus. “

A brilliant adult fairy tale! Dark romance, fairies, sirens, mages, dragons, dark elves, mermaids, trolls, imps, spells, and quests. I loved it, an action packed adventure from beginning to end. Folk lore and fae stories truly came alive, I fell in love with the characters and got lost in the story.
