Moonlit Magic

Moonlit Magic

The parchment burst into flames, not burning but transforming—the ash swirling upward in a spiral of silver smoke. The smoke split into three threads, each one curling toward them, seeping into their skin where the blood had been drawn. Rita gasped as it hit her—a connection, sudden and sure, like a second heartbeat nestled beside her own. Freda’s eyes glowed faintly. "It’s done." Pru exhaled, flexing her fingers. "Woah." Rita pressed a hand to her chest, where the bond hummed. She could feel them—Freda’s steady determination, Pru’s sharp intuition—like threads of light woven into her own magic.

“As long as we have one realistic injury, the rest can be faked and she can edit the video.” “Okay, I am following along.” Daxton nodded. “The only thing we will need to use more than once is the bullwhip.” I announced. “Why?” Carter and Daxton asked simultaneously. “The bullwhip will need to make multiple slashes, as it is impossible to hit the same mark each time. Also, it will allow my screams to sound more realistic. The injuries from a bullwhip are also the least extensive, so they will be healed the quickest. Although my wolf isn’t at full strength yet, my healing abilities can handle multiple lashes.” I explained.

Their control over their actions is fragile as the moon's phases dictate their fate. It first happened when I was in college. I had lost control and almost jeopardised the harmony of our people in the land of humans. Only Dad, Damien, and I knew about it. Dad had suggested we keep it from the others, especially because of Mom, and that we'd set out to look for an alternative. We've been through it for all those years until a witch discovered that the only way I would be able to get rid of the curse was when I had fully mated with my Luna and found true love.

Pure instinct took over my body, but instead of shifting I lifted my hand and magicked him to a complete stop. I gripped my fist tightly allowing the rage and despair of my heart to overcome me. With a thrust of my fist, his eyes bulged and his face went red. Without another sound, the man dropped to his knees. Dead. I stared at my hand for a moment in complete and utter shock. I had never killed anyone using my abilities like that before. Until now, I only knew how to heal with my magic. My capability to turn into a wolf wasn't the only thing that had been unlocked. Now, both the wolf and the magical side of me were harmonizing in my body, making me more powerful than I had been before.

Headmaster Stroud and all the teachers and other students who have been good to me. “I’m going,” I say. “And that’s final.” His nostrils flare with a quick exhale. “Then stick close to me. The Silver Hunters use magic, and they know how to wield it.” I frown. If they hate the supernatural so much, why are they using magic? And how is that even possible? There’s no time to ask. Alec and I are moving at a crouch, running across the bridge and into the school through a side door. The hall we enter is empty, but with signs of struggle here and there. Tipped over vases. Artwork on the floor.

Shadow Hunter

Shadow Hunter

It was a pathetic and undeniable craven existence but it was how they were winning the war. Dave let out a sigh. "No. He used a HG blade." I nodded. A brilliant man named Henry Gomez spent his life developing a UV spiked, but essentially silver based liquid that could be applied to any metallic object, leaving a coat of active poison that would kill both shade and host upon entering the their shared body. Something in perfectly balanced formula temporarily imprisoned the shade and as long as the wounds you inflicted on the human were mortal, the shade shared the same fate. The HG liquid had become as precious to us as light bulbs. It was hard to come by at the best of times, especially out h

The Mage's Heart

The Mage's Heart

“There are many half-breeds, so I doubt that is it... Mankind is compatible with most of the brethren, whereas we are not always compatible with each other. You never get a half Fae half ogre, for example, but you do get a half ogre half man, and a half Fae and half man. In most of these combinations, the brethren contribution is diluted. A half ogre will not have the strength of a full. “But your powers are not diluted so that is intriguing. I am also contemplating,” he stroked his fingers through my hair. “Why you appear to have never used your powers, even accidentally. I think you must have been spelled not to do so and the destiny spell overpowered it. Such a spell would have to be rene

A brilliant adult fairy tale! Dark romance, fairies, sirens, mages, dragons, dark elves, mermaids, trolls, imps, spells, and quests. I loved it, an action packed adventure from beginning to end. Folk lore and fae stories truly came alive, I fell in love with the characters and got lost in the story.

THE PRICE OF WENDY

Chapter 36 MEANWHILE IN the Fusion Realm: Mirage Maja’s eyes were closed, all around her, she was surrounded by bright light and energy. She could feel her power levels increasing by the second. “Eureka,” she whispered softly. Then her eyes flickered open, red flame-like energy leapt from her eyes, “I will see that you die for dethroning me!” she screamed and she sent volleys of energy at all direction. “You will watch as I destroy your beloved earth, I will make you drink the blood of everyone you love and cherish. Eureka!”
