"Don't beat yourself up too hard. You were just a kid yourself. She's healthy, she's happy." She's alive. They edged the tree line and he grinned. Raven stood at the base of the tree house, gawking up at the structure. "I'll have you know, this is no tree house. This is a Pinterest board." He laughed. It was pretty fantastic. Around the base of a thick spruce was a thin, winding staircase that led to a small platform twenty feet up. The tree house was designed to resemble a much smaller version of the main house and was held up by four thick beams. All four walls had windows and insulation.

"Here, let me show you something. Not about power, but about life." He turned a page, and my gaze fell upon an intricate drawing. It wasn't of a wolf or a battle, but of a sprawling, ancient tree, its roots reaching deep into the earth, its branches reaching for the sky. Tiny, luminous specks of light seemed to drift from its leaves.

The tree must be sturdy enough. Aria frowned when she felt a gentle vibration from Alex's broad chest. She looked up and was stunned when she saw Alexander Grissham's handsome face, which was usually held no expression at all and cold, now smiling broadly, even giggling at her. "It only imitates a living tree." Order, who had silently appeared behind us, leaned over the pages. "The roots..." Hunter nodded. "They aren't roots." "They're channels." I frowned.

The other children were busy working on their assignments, but Hibiki’s mind was already somewhere else—he had been thinking about the treehouse he had drawn at home the night before. His teacher, Mrs. Nakamura, had asked them to draw something that represented their imagination, and Hibiki had spent the entire evening sketching a dreamlike treehouse—one with twisting vines, brightly colored windows, and a ladder made of vines that seemed to lead straight to the clouds. Soft, plush carpeting in a vibrant shade of sky blue stretched from wall to wall, offering a comfortable landing pad for her many adventures. One entire wall was dedicated to a whimsical forest mural. Lush green trees with brightly colored leaves stretched towards the ceiling, while playful cartoon animals peeked out from behind them. A playful monkey swung from a painted vine, a friendly elephant trumpeted a greeting, and a pair of mischievous squirrels chased each other through the undergrowth.

“This way. The tree should be just beyond this ridge.” They trekked onward, the excitement building with each passing moment. Eventually, they arrived at a small clearing, and there it stood—the old tree, its massive trunk gnarled and twisted, with roots that snaked out like ancient fingers gripping the earth. “Wow,” Jace breathed, taking in the sight. “It’s incredible.” Mia stepped closer, her eyes sparkling. “It feels alive, like it’s watching us.” Elara began sketching the tree, capturing its majesty and the intricate details of its bark. “This is going to be a beautiful illustration for our story.”

Maia: 6 years old I wake up and yawn, stretching my arms high above my head. I’m sitting in a large hollow tree trunk. I have no idea why I’m here or how I got here. I feel soft moss under my feet and crawl out from the tree. Animals and critters in the forest gather around and approach me. They gently nuzzle their noses against my legs, and when I sit down on the grass, they curl up on my lap. There are rabbits, foxes, squirrels, deer, elk, birds, and mice. They follow me around and do not leave my side. I feel safe and loved in this forest, and I want to live here forever. The forest is my home, my safe place, my everything.

It transitioned to the animals and humans that they co-exist. After that, the drawings became different again. There is this huge tree on a detailed carving. The shape of its veins became familiar to me similar to Venenata Negra. So I realized that that was the tree. I saw drawings of fairies. I frowned because when I saw that the fairies tried to cut down the big tree I don't know what the reason was. But the fairies did not succeed in cutting Venenata Negra.
