Animal Instinct

"But not you? I don't think you fit in that category." He pursed his lips, "You'd be surprised." "Really? Try me." He hesitated at first, "Okay ... I'm afraid to end up alone," he raised his brows, "That's the reason why I want to retire ... I've been alone for 10 years and it's not easy at times ... it gets very lonely, and the thought of going through the rest of my life alone terrifies me." It struck her, loneliness is a very human emotion that could plague any normal human being, "Is that how it feels like to be on the run?"

Ok. I need to know what happens next. When can so expect book 2. I am waiting for Armando to come out of this coma and Diego and Ari life on the run has just begun. Don’t leave me hanging please. I am hooked and need the ending.

I definitely recommend this book. All the characters are really intruiging, even the antagonist. I even sympathize for him, why he became who he is now. I actually don't know who to ship: Ari&Diego, or Ari&Armand 🤭 Armand maybe a coo2x, but I want to give him the benifit of the doubt.

The set up

The set up

As I returned to my apartment, the familiar solitude embraced me, and a sense of loneliness washed over my heart. The space I called home was quiet, the silence a constant companion. I couldn't help but reflect on the fact that, apart from Patrick and Kelvin, I didn't have any real friends in my life. The realization weighed on me as I moved through my apartment, a gentle sigh escaping my lips. Loneliness had become a steady presence, a reminder that while I was dedicated to my work and passions, I yearned for meaningful connections and companionship.

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

The Billionaire’s Regret Clause; One Year Together. One Love

Farrow had written something in her notebook with the expression of a woman who had heard this particular formulation before. He had been, he now understood, very precisely and thoroughly lonely. And he had arranged his life so efficiently around loneliness—had packed it so densely with structure and purpose and the machinery of professional achievement—that there had been almost no room for it to be felt. Almost. The sound of Don moving in the adjacent study was audible through the wall. Not intrusive—just present. The low register of a voice on a call, the occasional shift of a chair, the particular rhythm of another person's working evening.

Losing the Lonely

Losing the Lonely

this place wasn't that busy right now, however, the dinner rush should be starting soon. "What brings you back here? Like for real" she asked, I sighed at first. My thoughts turned to my boys who were all grown and have their own lives. It's a bit depressing without them. And lonely. "It's been lonely since my babies are all grown up. They're enlisted in the military, and totally enjoy what they do" I said in a matter-of-fact way. I thought about that answer. I am going through a transition in my life that I don't know how to navigate. Plus, it's not like I ever married again. I don't know if I ever want to get remarried. Furthermore, I am 38 years old. It's not going to be easy to find a m

a drink we call loneliness

a drink we call loneliness

We end up arguing about his best book, and then about the worst pop albums made in the early 2000’s over dessert. For being someone who hasn’t had many friends in my lifetime, I think I could get used to this. Quiet dinner parties and chats about what’s on tv or the latest news. I used to believe I needed to have a big group of friends to be happy or have intense meaningful conversations all the time, and for the longest time, I put all those expectations on people. When betrayals and gossip made their appearance into the big friend groups I once hung with, I realized it was for the best I steered clear from all of that. It clearly wasn’t my scene.

The Billionaire's First Choice

The Billionaire's First Choice

As I lay there, staring up at the high ceiling, I felt a profound sense of isolation. The mansion, with all its grandeur and security, felt like a prison of sorts. I had tried my best to fit in, but it felt like every effort was overshadowed by my past and Mr. Nelson’s coldness. The loneliness was suffocating, and the realization that I was sleeping on the floor while Mr. Nelson enjoyed his luxurious bed only added to my sense of inadequacy.

Luna for Devious DON

Luna for Devious DON

But it seemed like Mabel was just looking for small jobs so she could stay here. I knew that Mabel would not let go of my watch, as long as I was in Mannor. Being on her radar was my fate, and it was a job she had to do because of Mattia's orders. “Of course, I think everyone has felt that way.” “Hmm, what do you do when you feel that way?” “I choose to remain lonely,” she said. "You mean?" “If you feel lonely in a crowd? Why be in a crowd? It’s better to find a quieter place, and really find yourself,” she replied.

The Alpha's Rejection, The King's Obsession

The Alpha's Rejection, The King's Obsession

I was alone, adrift in a world that seemed determined to crush me. The loneliness was suffocating, a heavy blanket that wrapped around me, squeezing the air from my lungs. I felt like I was invisible, a ghost hovering on the fringes of society, never quite part of it. I longed for connection, for someone to share my burden, to offer a listening ear or a comforting touch. But it seemed like every time I reached out, I was met with rejection. People would smile and nod, but their eyes would glaze over, and they would turn away, leaving me feeling like I was nothing more than a nuisance.

My Mate Rejected Me For His Girlfriend

My Mate Rejected Me For His Girlfriend

Perhaps partly, though I didn't regret my decision to move to Riverview, to give myself space to heal and grow beyond the shadow of what might have been. Mostly, I realized with mild surprise, it was loneliness. Not specifically for Liam, but for the companionship he had represented, for the future I had begun to envision before his accident rewrote all their stories. Seeing him settled with his family highlighted the solitary nature of my current existence—new job, new town, new apartment, but no one to share any of it with. I needed to get out there and find a man, maybe not a werewolf but a man who wouldn't say he was destined for another. I wanted someone to choose me first.

The Rise Of The Betrayed Wife

The Rise Of The Betrayed Wife

“Building the company from nothing. Raising Rosie without her mother. Maintaining walls that keep people at a safe distance so they can't hurt me. It's exhausting. The kind of tired that goes deeper than one late night.” Isla set down her mug and typed quickly. I understand that feeling. Being alone in a crowded room. Sometimes the loneliest moments are when you're surrounded by people who should care but don't. Her words hit exactly where I was feeling it. That deep loneliness that came from being responsible for everything and everyone but having no one to share the weight with. I looked at her across the kitchen island. She was watching me with those dark eyes, her expression open in a wa
