One of Sonny's books, one personal development and one for entertainment. I've finished the first two. I'm on to The Hobbit now." "Oh yeah?" Max perked up. "I really liked that one as a kid. It took me longer to get into Lord of the Rings." For the first time, Aspen actually had a little life in her eyes. "Yeah? I've heard it gets really bogged down in description."

Bailey watched, horrified. “Sweet tea,” she said, sounding like she’d discovered a crime. “You’re a sweet tea person.” “Yes,” I said, defensive on principle. Bailey leaned closer, eyes gleaming. “Okay. So here’s what we do. We start a book club.” I blinked. “What?” “A book club,” she repeated, like it was obvious. “For romance. Specifically romantic fantasy. Specifically.” she lowered her voice again, conspiratorial “ the ones with wolves.”

Emil snorted in laughter, laughing at my clumsy excuse to conserve my dignity. Sarah tugged at his sleeve. "Emil, let Penny come to the party with us. She's rather pitiful." Sometimes we go to a book club which we both love. “Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover.” “Oh my God. I love that book. It made me cry.” “Yeah I know. It’s the third time I’m reading it.” I put some laughing emojis on the message. “What are you reading?” I ask her. “Things We Left Behind. Lucy Score.” She has placed heart emojis and book emojis at the end of her message. “Oh wow. I love that book. I’ve read the two after it. You need to get them.” I tell her, noticing that a smile is on my face as I lay here in the dark.

Even though they weren't speaking, he was happy to see his daughters. He retired and decided to take a place in the city center to open a book club and share his passion for books with other people. Things were going well until a year ago when his sister also passed away. It was a hard blow for him and he thought he was losing his mind but thanks to this club and his grandchildren he was able to get up. It's almost the end of the year celebrations and he doesn't know if his daughters will come like in previous years, especially since the past holidays they didn't come. He must think that it was really for their aunt that they came. But he hopes that they will forgive him one day.

What about you? History major with a focus on obscure trade? That’s not common.”
