The Bully's Regret
The banner stretched across the front of the boys’ manor, bold and excessive, just like everything else about this place.
Still crooked. “Stop.” I lifted a hand. “Hold it there.”
I walked a few steps to the side, tilting my head slightly as I assessed the alignment against the windows and pillars. The manor itself stood like a statement. perfect. Lights had already been strung along the edges of the roof, glowing faintly as dusk began to settle in.
“Now move it half an inch back,” I said.
“Half an inch?” one of them repeated, incredulous.
