I lifted my eyelids and tried to focus on Jinx shaking his head and mumbling about something not being good. "The beast infected Noah's shadow wolf's blood. It's going to alter his DNA and mind and hopefully not cause his darkness to overrun him," Dagon murmured in regret. I looked up at him and said no. My eyes closed and I must have fainted. I woke up again sometime later with an IV in my arm and gold blood flowing within it. I sat up and glanced around the pack room in my lodge that still stood. The blood was bagged and not from a living source. I yelled out and a lovely woman came in. I recalled that her name was Sara. She came in and started to remove the needle from my arm.

Blood oozed out of my nose. I stared at her in utter disbelief. “Now you are crossing your limit. Why don't you understand such a simple thing that I'm not your wife. You can't force someone to be your wife. I'm Viviana Wang Luna of Blood Shadow Pack. I didn't fall from the sky. If you don't believe me then go to Red Moon Pack and meet my parents then you will understand that I'm not the person you are assuming me to be. I'm a different person and she was a different person. We just look alike. We are not the same person. The sooner you understand this the better for you.”

“You believe you lose your blood because you have money?” His jaw tightened slightly. “My parents died, and it is people like you who made my voice shake,” I said. “People who determine that others are irrelevant.” The guards came nearer, and they caught my arms. "Take her," Dino said. Trying to turn my head back to look at him, I was pulled by them towards the door. “It is no use killing me and washing your blood,” I said. Having fresh blood was always better. I couldn't get fresh human blood since I was too far away from human civilization. So, animal blood would have had to suffice for now. The blood from the blood bank was frozen so, it had to be rewarmed for us to drink. Just like how soggy warmed up food in a microwave tasted so, too did the blood when it was warmed. But at least they had blood for us right? Beggars can't be choosers.

My beta supposedly be the one who will train them, and he did, and I will be the one who will judge them base on the reports and self-observation, but I totally forgot about it, adding another pile of papers on my desk right now. Aside from the pack's warriors, I needed to review the proposal that the council has given me last week. It was about how we could make my mate's blood useful, they suggested that we need to store her blood in the blood bank, so that in case of emergency, it'll be use to heal or help the medical team. I sighed heavily. "Life's suck when you bite more than you can chew, Alpha," Cromwel commented as he glares at me while reading some newspaper,

I say. "For what she expended." Maret chooses her words carefully. Sets them down like objects she is placing on a surface she isn't sure will hold them. "What she carries, what was revealed tonight, it isn't something we have a reference for. Not in living memory. The Moonblood hasn't manifested fully in generations." She pauses. "She used a significant portion of it in a very short time. The shift. The fight. And then what she did for you." She says that last part without inflection.

She skims through the dusty, yellow papers while I observe her Rin silence. When she finds the page she was searching for she gestures for me to come over. “I think she was attacked by one of the Band of Blood. They are known for having received gifts from the Sun God himself. If I am correct the fog still festers in her blood. You marking her didn’t exactly help, it weakened her already fragile state. We need to clean her blood thoroughly, until there is nothing left of the fog.” She says.

I flipped to the back of the book. The last chapter was titled "The Line of Lunae: Unique Manifestations of Power." I sat down on the stone bench and started reading. The Line of Lunae possessed a unique gift, separate from the standard Alpha bloodline abilities. This power, known as the Blood-Call, allowed those of Lunae descent to feel and influence the emotional landscape of those around them. Unlike empathic abilities, which are subtle and passive, the Blood-Call functions more like weather. It can be gentle or it can be a storm, depending on the wielder's emotional state.
