Marcus had asked, his voice low and mocking. “Yes, it is her,” I had said, my grip tightening on Phoenix’s arm. “Do what you need to do, but don’t harm her.” Marcus had laughed bitterly. “Don’t worry, princess. I’ll play my part now.” He had pulled Phoenix into his arms, her protests were weak and slurred. The sight had been enough. And so, I had left her in Marcus arms, leaving her there to go finish up with the whistle blowing. And the rest of what happened had unfolded exactly as I’d hoped.

They shielded their faces, hissing, their pale skin reflecting the light like mirrors. One—braver or more foolish than the rest—made the mistake of testing the barrier. The scream that tore from his throat was something beyond agony. His flesh didn't burn—it incinerated, blackening and curling away from bone in seconds. The Phoenix fire didn't consume him like ordinary flame; it rejected him, repelled him with violent force. He recoiled, clutching what remained of his hand, the stump cauterized and smoking. His screams echoed across the courtyard, a warning written in blood and ash.

Jace shouted into the comms unit. "What the hell?" I asked, wondering what all of that was about. "Your brother is in a lot of trouble." Jace sighed, turning back to me. "What? Why? Wait.. How do you know he's in trouble?" I asked. "Because that wasn't just any man that just entered his building. That was Blaze Maddox." My eyes went wide in surprise. "As in the Blaze Maddox? As in the leader of the Cobras? The one that had gone missing?" I ask, making sure I was understanding everything properly.

He placed a sleek black folder on my desk. “It’s about Project PhoenixSec,” he said, his tone uneasy. “And… Marcus Hale.” I froze. “Marcus Hale is dead.” Marco’s throat moved as he swallowed. “Apparently not.” I flipped the file open. There it was. A grainy satellite image—Hale stepping out of a van near Cebu, flanked by two of my former cyber ops men. Below it, another photo: my company logo, spray-painted on a wall and crossed out in red.

Drake growled. Suddenly, his eyes turned red; he was fuming mad as he transformed. He runs towards the rouge, who transforms into a werewolf and mercilessly scratches his back. He wasn’t contented; he attacked the rouge, and then Drake beheaded the rouge until it transformed into a human, lying on the ground, lifeless. They fought the other rouge and howled angrily. “That’s for poisoning my stray!” Drake gritted his teeth as he beheaded them all. Beta Dillon picked up the poison's antidote and gave it to the alpha.

He looked pathetic right now, a minute ago, he was tall and might. “Where is Lukeman.” The man saw the look in Marco's eyes, he knew right away that Marco won't fail to fulfill his promise. “I…I.” The man stuttered. Marco's phone rang, it was his uncle, Lucas. He's good at tracking, and he has been tracking Lukeman since they arrive in Mexico. “I've got him.” Lucas spoke through the speaker, Marco smirked. A dangerous smirk. “Bring him over.” He simply instructs. Marco signal Matthew to do away with the auctioneer, since he's insignificant to him now, there's no use keeping him.
